Please join us on October 15 for our annual Caroline Thompson Lectureship Series with guest speaker Dr. Natalie Leland.

The University of Wisconsin–Madison Doctor of Occupational Therapy program honors Caroline Thompson, who served as the program director from 1945 to 1976. Each year, we feature prominent guest speakers and researchers in the field to share their knowledge and perspectives with our students, colleagues and community.

As a current faculty at the University of Pittsburgh Department of Occupational Therapy, Dr. Leland’s expertise includes health services research, implementation science, and community-engaged research methods.

Topic: “Partnering with Communities to Address Health System Challenges and Optimize Patient Outcomes”
Location: Great Hall inside-Memorial Union [800 Langdon Street, Madison]
*Online option available for distance learners.
Time: Thursday | October 15 | 4.30pm to 7pm

Appetizers will be provided. We cannot wait for this year’s event. Hope to see you there! 🦡 taken in Memorial Union Terrace by @uwmadot

Our 2nd year OTD students had a whale of a time in sensory lab exploring the senses of proprioception, vestibular, tactile, and more! 🛝🪀🫧 Just look at all the smiles, it’s like we were kids again for a day.

When OT school looks like this, how can we complain? Stay tuned for more clips from this fun day. #ot #occupationaltherapy #sensory #otstudent #otstudents taken in Medical Sciences Center by @uwmadot

If you didn’t already know, OTs work in mental health! 🧠✨

While psychologists, psychiatrists, and licensed therapists do incredible work, OT adds unique value. Our clinical lens bridges the medical perspective with practical strategies needed to support mental wellbeing in the real world. 🏄

You’ll find us in inpatient psychiatric units, partial hospitalization programs, group homes, corporate companies, outpatient services, schools, hospice, clinics to community mental health spaces, and the list goes on. If you learn anything from this post: OT is there to support the mind and everything it does for our bodies. 💪🪴
