A year ago, one night I closed my eyes for 10 minutes and imagined being an animal in a gas chamber.

Then I started writing a song, thinking of what it might feel to be considered less than nothing at all.

This is the first, real song I wrote for them.

A year later, most people don't even know it, but that's not what bothers me.

The fact that trillions of animals will never know that there's someone out there trying to save them, that's what breaks my heart.

We're trying. We're sorry.

Imagine finding yourself in a gas chamber, or on a slaughterhouse floor, powerless, completely terrified, and knowing someone is about to end your life.

That is the exact reality I was thinking about when I wrote this song.

To all the victims who will never get the chance to be free: this is for you. 💔

🚨🐷🐷 WE FEAR THE PIGS MAY BE DEAD. 🚨

We tried to save them.

For weeks, activists protested il Buco and Sky High Farm. We launched a widespread social media campaign. We called. We emailed. We asked questions. We offered to connect them with a sanctuary professional to begin the rescue process immediately.

They have been given every opportunity to let these animals live - yet they have refused to tell us where the pigs are or provide any information that would allow us to verify their safety.

Our hearts are broken at the possibility that we may not have been able to save them.

But the story does not end here.

Join us outside il Buco on September 27 at 12.30p.m. to speak out against what was done to these pigs - animals who are likely no more than six months old. Bring your inner fire, raise your voice, and demand they END this barbaric tradition. No more pig roasts - not next year, not ever.

And let the message ring. We refuse to accept violence against animals as a celebration on our streets. We will continue to challenge the comfort with which people exploit, kill, and eat animals - and the “ethical” and “humane” labels promoted by organizations like Sky High Farm that make that violence easier to accept.

This is only the beginning.

To this day, I don't know how someone can just react like this in front of the suffering of other beings. I wish we had an "apathy meter" to individuate these kind of people right away. That's why the 3 strikes policy really helps you save your energy.

You might not laugh, but you might be responsible for this injustice everyday of your life if you don't live vegan. by @v__chip
