Vacate Palace ‘24 Regional Tour ⚔️

One year ago today VP played The Prince for the first time. Just yesterday they closed out their first ever tour right back in Bunbury. 8 shows, 3 weekends, 4 cities, 2 towns, 9 support bands, and 5 regional dates, coming almost immediately off the back of The Big Gig ‘24. This had been in the works for 6 months and has only further solidified VP as a driving force and favourite in the greater Western Australian scene.

What an absolute pleasure to work with these boys, the incredible supports, and to have the privilege of introducing down south to their indeed triumphant return. I have been so stoked, but not surprised at all, that VP has made a serious dent in Bunbury especially. I first saw and loved the band in Feb of last year, pre-McHorns’ release - still performing as ‘Vacate’ - and have been lucky enough to witness how much they have evolved, expanded and defined as a unit. Their EP release in May - Que Qingdom - is a landmark to the start of the new VP era, so keep your ear to the ground for their movements…

Thank you to Cuba and VP, Kayne, AJ, Mitch, Greg, Liz, Dullhouse, Pensive, The Cherrys, Noise Abatement, 11;44 and everyone who made this regional leg possible by showing your support over the last year, and especially since The Big Gig - only 1 month ago today.

THE LYRICS OF PARTY AT THE PALACE

Some are wild, some are on the nose, some are personal. Please have a read, a lot went into this album and the lyric creation was no exception.

These came straight from the flaming soul, discussing topics we really needed to. I hope the meanings of these lyrics are easily understood, I'd also love to see how all of you interpret it differently. I hope that something here sticks with you and that someone may feel seen within these songs, what a nice scenario.

See you tonight at our show to celebrate Party at the Palace, tickets are running very low online and limited door tickets too. It's 100% selling out so first come first serve ✌️ by @vacatepalace

☆ ALBUM IS OUT THIS FRIDAY 28/8 ☆

Words can't describe our satisfaction with this album. We've always had grand ideas and never felt like we got to express them on full display. This time we've crafted exactly what we wanted.

We were in a rocky, quiet era of the band for some time, confused on what the future held. This album represents more than just our big ideas, but a celebration of Vacate Palace and everything that makes us who we are as people. We've learnt and grown an indescribable amount in the 5 years we've been active, literally since early teenagehood, played every type of show you could imagine, feeling unsatisfied with our output, refining the sound, becoming incredible friends with each other. The creation of this album was done in a stress-fuelled flurry, with crazy deadlines and a lot on the line.

All we hope is that this album brings joy to whoever finds it, and that they feel the fun and emotion we've put on display. We have always wanted to make fun music for everybody, that is the vision.

HUGE thank you go to our friend @lewi.what who made this album with us. We recorded everything at home, and had Lewi mix, master and add his own flare to the album. Couldn't have asked for a better guy to work with and we had so much fun, he is incredible.

Our album launch show will be at Party at the Palace 3. The album naming was intentional, we centred it around the most beloved corridor of our palace, the DIY series we started in 2023. The third is happening on September 4th, a week from the album's release just under 2 weeks away. Tickets are in our bio, it'll be massive one to remember and our last show for a few months as Seb is going away.

Thank you to everyone who has been here along the journey, everyone who's come to a show, shared a nice word to us, supported us online, helped us with hands on deck at shows, tolerated our busy schedules in this stressful, cramped time, and everyone else who know who they are.

☆ PARTY AT THE PALACE 3 ON SEPTEMBER 4TH ☆

We’re incredibly proud and excited to announce the third instalment of our all ages DIY series Party at the Palace, and that we’re releasing our first ever album also titled ‘Party at the Palace’ releasing on August 28th

We have @scumlings @spclbeamcannon @5oothe and @cow.toolls on the lineup this time around, a truly beautiful and haunting cast of characters

Taking place on September 4th at the Mt Hawthorn Community Hall, we’re tapping into that fantastically foul energy that fuelled the first and second PATPs to bring yet another magical night

We’ve been working on our album for quite some time, and it’s truly something special, the best encapsulation of what VP is all about and our influences - a huge party. All 9 songs will be released in 2 weeks’ time

Tickets are $15 in our bio and we cannot wait to see your faces yet again at our first big show in 2 years.

Unbelievably huge shoutouts to @lewi.what for mixing and mastering our album, and to @scumgraphics for his crazy work on the poster design. We recorded the parts all at home, a first for us.
