Beyond the Competition Stage 🌎🩰

One of the things that makes @yagp so special is that the experience doesn’t end when the competition does.

Through YAGP, young dancers are exposed to an incredibly wide world of dance. They meet teachers they may have first seen on a YAGP stage, learn from judges and artists from many different dance backgrounds, and experience different teaching styles and perspectives.

Over the years, YAGP has connected young dancers with teachers and opportunities from so many schools, organizations, and Summer Intensive Programs — including Colorado Ballet Academy, Southland Ballet Academy, Houston Ballet, Oklahoma City Ballet,YGP Dance Lab, YGP Italy, YGP China, Vaganova International Program(VIP) and many, many more.

Each experience can bring something different: a new correction, a different approach to training, a teacher who inspires them, friendships with dancers from different places, or simply a better understanding of how big the dance world really is. 🌎

And sometimes, the most meaningful growth happens beyond the competition stage — inside the studio, through a correction, a conversation, a new friendship, or an experience that opens a young dancer’s eyes to something they had never seen before.

Competition may bring them together, but education, connection, exposure, and a shared love for dance are what keep this community growing. ❤️

The photos in this post are a few moments I captured during @vaganovainternationalprogram VIP, where I’ve had the opportunity to see these connections continue through my lens. 📸🩰
