🍷 Op maandag 16 november komt @valeirg naar the crib. Valerie opent binnenkort samen met partner Pieter een (wijn)bistro in Dendermonde en was tot voor kort head sommelier bij Oak. In samenwerking met @lanebbiavini die acht wijnen meebrengt, @cammalleri.gent die antipasti en charcuterie verzorgt, en @lewine_group die ons de passende Riedel glassware levert.

We zijn heel blij dat Valerie Goedertier ons zaterdag komt vergezellen op de herfstdegustatie.
Ze is echt een topsommelier, werkte tot voor kort bij Oak in Gent en opent binnenkort haar eigen zaak Brulotte, een bristro à vin.
Zij zal jullie de wijnen van één van haar favoriete Italiaanse domeinen voorstellen, namelijk Tenute Sella.
Ze is zó leuk en inspirerend om naar te luisteren. Dat zullen jullie wel merken.

This one is for @oakgent and for everyone who made those years so special. Can I tell you a little bit about this journey?
When I was 14, I started creating a little collection on my sister’s computer, filled with ideas of what my dream restaurant would one day look like.
Fast forward to 2020. I started working at OAK with only one mission: to learn as much as possible. Little did I know how much this place, and especially the people in it, would end up meaning to me.

I had so many fights with Marcelo, but probably hugged him even more. He challenged me, pushed me, frustrated me 🤪 and taught me more than I could ever fit into an Instagram caption.
Dominik’s big heart and his way of making everyone feel welcome showed me a completely different side of hospitality.

Listen, I came to OAK because I wanted to learn. But these two gave me much more than that. Somewhere along the way, it stopped being just about the job.

It became about the people who walked through the door. The familiar faces that kept coming back, the conversations at the table and all the bottles we opened together.

It became about the incredible relationships with the suppliers. People I initially met because of wine, food or work, but who over the years became people I genuinely looked forward to seeing. Thank you for the trust, the knowledge, the endless tastings and above all: the friendships.

The truth is, working there was so much fun that I could have easily stayed for the rest of my days. Surrounded by people I loved, doing a job I loved, in a place that had become so familiar it felt like home.

But at some point, I knew I owed it to that 14-year-old version of myself to find out what she had in mind.

Dominik, Marcelo, I’m going to say it now, and I would repeat it a 1000 times: I am beyond grateful for this adventure.

Welkom, dit is Sips&Dips. Zeven avonden, zeven sommelières, tien plaatsen per avond.

🍷Vanaf oktober strijkt Sips&Dips neer in the content crib in Gent. Elke avond staat er één sommelière aan tafel met acht wijnen die zij zelf koos, en de dips die daarbij horen. Twee uur, tien mensen, geen theorie.
