Close to 💯 neighbors and guests attended our National Night Out in our subdivision!🙌🏼 It was so great to meet new neighbors and reconnect with familiar faces. 🥰 Thanks to the HOA, the City of McKinney (several departments), the Police, Community Impact, Fire and Code Enforcement departments and many more for coming out to support community. 👍🏼 Lynda and I had lots of interested visitors to our Texas Master Naturalist table. 🌿 What a great evening of conversation, community-building and the weather was perfect!💯☀️🤸🏻‍♀️ #nationalnightout #texasmasternaturalist #mckinneytx #tmn #bptmn by @valiz9

TIMBER at the Plano Baha’i Center!🗣️The last Bradford Pear came down perfectly on a dime thanks to the expertise of Texas Master Naturalist Lorelei and with the tremendous help of Alex (also a TMN) it was disassembled and distributed throughout the property. ✅ Amazing teamwork!🙌🏼We finished the task in 3 hours!😮‍💨 I’m really grateful to get these trees out of there as they were definitely not sound.😬 We’ll be repurposing the trunks and branches for erosion control and installing native plants and shrubs in their place!🙏🌿💚🌎 #naturegirl #nativeplants #bahai #nativeplantproject #bradfordpear by @valiz9

I love this quote that was read at at Building Havens for Peace Camp yesterday.❤️ “It behooveth all the beloved of God to become as one, to gather together under the protection of a single flag, to stand for a uniform body of opinion, to follow one and the same pathway, to hold fast to a single resolve.
Let them forget their divergent theories and put aside their conflicting views since, God be praised, our purpose is one, our goal is one.
We are the servants of one Threshold, we all draw our nourishment from the same one Source, we all are gathered in the shade of the same high Tabernacle, we all are sheltered under the one celestial Tree.”

🌎 Caring for the Earth: Film Screening & Discussion 🌎

Join me as we explore faith, spirituality, and care for our planet.

We’ll view two short inspiring films from the 7-part Caring for the
Earth series, featuring Christian, Muslim, Indigenous, Bahá’í, and
Jewish voices from across the country who are leading with hope,
compassion, and courage.

Discover how Bahá’í teachings on stewardship, spiritual
transformation, and service to humanity can inspire practical action
for the Earth while contributing to community-building and service
envisioned in the Nine Year Plan.

Each film includes a study guide with prayers and Holy Writings from
the Bahá’í Faith and other faith traditions for reflection,
discussion, and action.

Come be inspired and explore how faith, service, and community action
can help us build a more hopeful and sustainable future!🙏🌿💚🌎 #greenefamilycamp #blessedtomorrow by @valiz9

While tons of water is dumped on lawns, the blackland prairie and native plant landscapes are still going strong with no irrigation and no measurable rain in over 60 days.🙌🏼 Proof that native plants are the answer.🙏🌿💚🌎 #naturegirl #nativeplants #plantnative #getoutside #heardmuseum by @valiz9

Bradford Pear tree removal has begun at the Plano Baha’i Center! 🪚🌳

Bradford Pear trees are invasive, non-native to the region and pose ecological problems.🧐 They are even banned in some states.❌ There are 5 of these trees at the back of the Center property which are at the end of their life and pose a safety issue should we get a big storm or freeze this year.😬

Thanks to my fellow Texas Master Naturalists for coming out today in the heat!🥵 YOU ROCK!!!🙌🏼

These spaces will be restored with beautiful, beneficial native plants.🙏🌿💚🌎 #naturegirl #nativeplants #nativeplantproject #bradfordpear #planobahaicenter by @valiz9

And now for something completely different! 🤡 LOL. 🤣 A friend I met at the Town Lake Recreation Center in McKinney mentioned a Wednesday night juggling club! 🤹‍♀️What? Had to go since I actually had an unexpected Wednesday night off from band practice. 🏃🏽‍♀️So fun and a break from routine. 🙌🏼 Brought back lots of theatre memories for Marc and me. 🎭These pics were early in to the evening. We did improve. 💯 Marc is way better at juggling than I am. 👍🏼The guys there were super nice and extremely helpful. If you’re looking to challenge your brain and coordination, give it a try! ✅Check out the rec center website!☀️🤸🏻‍♀️ by @valiz9
