My relationship with Twenty One Pilots started when the Blurryface storyline began. I listened to their Trench album when I was at one of the lowest points. The more Tyler wrote about Blurryface as a symbol of struggling with mental health, the more I resonated with his work.

In 2019, I bought a ticket to their show in Kyiv. Then summer 2020 came with c*vid, and the show was cancelled. Same thing happened in summer 2021.

Summer 2022. I still have the tickets. And yet Kyiv is at w*r. No room for Banditos. Meanwhile, the Pilots keep developing the whole Blurryface universe.

In 2025, they released Breach, the final album of that storyline. They closed the arc and, metaphorically, said goodbye to the mental health struggles they had been dealing with as artists. That was also the year I said goodbye to mine.

I took that personally and claimed it as a sign :) So I felt this urge to finally catch them on tour. And luckily, they announced they’d be playing Sziget in 2026.

Seven years after buying those tickets, I finally got the chance to scream their songs out loud. It was an incredible experience — one that I spent completely bursting into tears.

Time is not linear. And maybe I did listen to them when I was finally ready.

So grateful to be here, to have this experience, to listen to so many other incredible artists, and to be at what is honestly the best-organized festival I’ve ever been to. taken in Sziget - Island of Freedom by @vasicily
