six years ago today, I spread my wings and began a new life on the other side of the world 𓆃

I left behind my “old life,” leaving the United States and my job as a lawyer in one of the largest law firms in the country.

I left my family, my friends, and my downtown apartment — I left practically all that was familiar, in search of greater fulfillment than what I’d found in a conventional life in the USA…

In many ways, my “new life” began six years ago, on September 4, 2019…

But when I reflect on when my new life truly began — the true inflection point of my life — it began 18 days earlier, in California’s San Bernardino Valley…

With nothing more than curiosity and a plea to the universe to “show me if there’s more,” I drank an Amazonian plant medicine known as Ayahuasca.

Never have I witnessed a question answered so clearly and emphatically.

What I know today is that a “new life” truly began that evening — I experienced the “dying before you die” rebirth that so many spiritual lineages from around the world revere and aspire to ☥

My life would never be the same ❂

I traded my constrictive suit and tie for the expansive glow of the light of my soul, grounded by the elements and my bare feet on the earth ☼

I began exploring the world of consciousness, healing, and self-realization.

I began exploring and soon dedicated my life to sound healing, meditation, earth medicine, yoga, tantra, ayurveda, and any and all paths and practices that offered meaningful change in my life and the lives of those I serve.

My life has been an ever-more-deeply unfolding discovery of consciousness, truth, and bliss, accented by some of the greatest challenges of my life — all divinely designed to reveal the ignorance of my conditioned self and all that obstructed the ever-present consciousness, truth, and bliss within All ❀

Today, another “new life” begins — one that dissolves any illusion of separation between my “old life” and my “new life” — bridging the old and the new, the mystical and the mundane, the spiritual and the material ☯︎

maybe you’ve been feeling it too… that quiet feeling that there has to be MORE

🌈 more life, more adventure, more connection, more meaning, more of the world outside the little bubble you’ve built your life inside

🇬🇹 i visited guatemala 5 years ago for 3 weeks & never left lol… & one of the biggest gifts guatemala has given me is realizing how small my idea of “life” used to be

🙏 there are entire ways of living, praying, connecting + understanding the world & nature that i didn’t even know existed

🌿 learning about the mayan civilization, hearing stories that have been passed down for generations, learning new ways to honor nature & the elements, different ways of understanding spirit, community + time

🔥 i didn’t know i needed to sit around a sacred fire with a mayan grandfather and pray until i did. i didn’t know how much i needed to disconnect from the noise, feel the energy of mayan ruins, move my body in the jungle, sit in silence, learn from another culture + remember that there is SO much more to life than the little bubble we build around ourselves

🌇 it makes you realize how easy it is to mistake your little bubble for the whole world. your routines, your city, your culture, your beliefs, your version of what life is “supposed” to look like

and then you step outside of it and realize THERES SO MUCH MORE
