I’m absolutely ecstatic to announce the official launch of vault713archive.com! This has been months of development in the making; revolutionizing how the Harry Potter Trading Card Game gets documented, searched, and collected online. The goal from day one was simple: build the most intuitive, most complete, most educational resource this community has ever had.

One of one. PSA 10. 💎

One of the most significant cards I’ve added to the archive, and so incredibly happy with the grade it came back in.

This set introduced the first serialized 1/1 Harry Potter cards that were officially licensed, making this a pretty important piece of Harry Potter trading card history. And having THE Harry Potter 1/1 come back from PSA as a GEM MT 10 makes it even better.

A holy grail for me. What do you think this card would do at auction?

The Devil’s Snare Promo: The promo grail of the WOTC Harry Potter TCG.

This is my PSA 7, second-highest graded copy, and it’s easily one of the biggest cards in the entire WOTC Harry Potter TCG.

The Devil’s Snare promo can be found inside the big-box PC version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. What makes that especially strange is that the PC game was normally associated with the Illegibilus promo, which is the card you’d expect to find inside these boxes. Collectors have reported finding Devil’s Snare instead, but only on extremely rare occasions. Was this a mistake? Intentional? Nobody knows.

Additionally, there is no artist credited on the Devil’s Snare card. It is reported to have been illustrated by Mark Braught.

The crazy part about this card is how few copies are actually out there. The total PSA population for the Devil’s Snare promo is currently 10 total. You almost never see copies surface, and there’s very little market history to even go off of. It’s one of those cards where finding one is hard enough, and finding one in this condition is a completely different story.

One of those cards I know I may only ever get one chance to have in my collection.

A true UK 1st edition, 2nd print of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone ⚡️

It’s hard to believe how much history is behind this little book. One of the earliest printings of the story that started it all, from before Harry Potter became the worldwide phenomenon we know today.

This is my book grail until I get my hands on that first print. Until that day comes, I’m more than happy to have this one in the collection.

Robert Galbraith (J.K. Rowling) signed hardcover copy of The Silkworm, complete with the J.K. Rowling hologram:

If you’re not familiar with the story behind the name, Robert Galbraith was a pseudonym J.K. Rowling used when she first entered the crime-fiction world. The Cuckoo’s Calling was published in 2013 under the Galbraith name, with Rowling hoping the book could stand on its own without the instant attention that came with her name.

Rowling was revealed as Robert Galbraith later that same year, but instead of dropping the pseudonym, she kept writing the Cormoran Strike series under it.

The Silkworm followed in 2014, making this the second Cormoran Strike novel, and part of a pretty unique chapter in modern publishing history. Very happy to have this unique piece in the Vault!

“Backfire!” (逆噴射!) Japanese promo: Considered one of the rarest Harry Potter TCG cards. This ultra-rare promo was only available as an insert in the December 2002 issue of Shogakukan, a Japanese publisher of children’s magazines. That distribution alone makes surviving copies scarce, and finding one in sharp condition is super tough.

A true grail for Harry Potter TCG collectors. Very glad to have one of these in the collection in such good condition!

Without a doubt, my favorite Harry Potter TCG art piece in my collection: The original finished sketch for “Silver Cauldron” from the 2001 Harry Potter TCG Base Set, illustrated by Kevin Dobler.

One of the most beautiful pieces from the entire Base Set, and such an incredible piece of HPTCG history. I’m truly ecstatic to have this in the Vault. ⚡️

By far one of the most unique pieces in the collection. This is an original HPTCG Japanese Chamber of Secrets color proof uncut sheet from 2002. However, this isn’t your typical uncut HPTCG sheet. It was produced by Rainier Color during the prepress proofing process to check color, registration, and layout before production was approved to move on.

Unlike the finished cards, this isn’t printed on cardstock. It’s on a poster-like proofing stock, and only the card fronts are present. None of the foil had been applied during this process, even though every card on this sheet would have been a premium holo in the final product.

The sheet was printed in four sections and taped together at the factory for alignment checks. It still has the original Rainier Color QA sticker, production notes, date stamps, and markings exactly as they were used during the proofing process.

To the best of my knowledge, this is a one-of-one surviving example. I’ve never seen another HPTCG color proof sheet like it, and longtime uncut sheet collectors have told me they’ve only ever encountered a single proof of this type for a given TCG set, if any survive at all.

These were never intended to leave the print shop. They were working proofs, not collectibles, and most would have been discarded once they had served their purpose. This will forever be one of my grails!

Through The Trapdoor (Promo) - One of the 3 toughest Harry Potter TCG promos to find. This card was only available as a Toys R Us preorder promo, and has become one of the most desirable promos in the game.

Even in a PSA 6, these don’t come up often. For a lot of Harry Potter collectors, this is one of those cards that you’re lucky to own in any condition.

One of the coolest Harry Potter TCG errors I’ve been able to get my hands on. A 2001 Base Set Boa Constrictor with an inverted front and dramatic miscut, graded PSA 9 (MC). Factory errors this extreme don’t show up often, and this is such a fun conversation piece that I’ve been super excited to share with the community!

One of the biggest mysteries and rarest promos in the Harry Potter TCG.

Pictured are two copies of the elusive Italian Alohomora promo from my collection, alongside the scarce Italian “Which Spell Would You Choose?” advertising card.

To this day, nobody knows exactly how the Alohomora promo was originally distributed. It’s considered one of the rarest and most desirable promo cards in the entire Harry Potter TCG, with only a handful of copies surfacing over the years.

One of my copies was discovered inside an old Harry Potter board game, together with the matching Italian ad card. That find has added weight to the long-standing theory that these promos were handed out in Italian game stores, although no official records have ever confirmed their true origin.

Finding even one of these promos is a challenge. Having two, along with the matching ad card, makes this one of the highlights of my collection.
