No one talks about the heartbreak of being a NICU mom…

People see my tiny smiles now,
but they don’t see the tears my mamma cried before them.

They don’t hear the beeping machines that filled her days and nights.
They don’t know what it felt like for her to leave the hospital while I stayed behind.

A part of her heart stayed there with me.

She held fear in one hand and hope in the other.
She smiled through tears, prayed through pain,
and stayed strong even when her heart was breaking.

People call NICU moms strong,
but they don’t always see the pain that made them that way.

This journey changed her forever.
And even when the NICU days are over,
the memories never really leave.

But through every painful moment,
my mamma stood by me with a love stronger than fear 🤍

To every NICU mom silently fighting the hardest battles—
you are the strongest kind of mother.

And I pray no parent ever has to know this kind of pain.

The pain was real…
the sleepless nights, the tears, the fear, the waiting…

But then came her 💛

Nobody prepares you for the lessons life teaches you when you’re at your most vulnerable.

There were days I didn’t know how I was going to get through.

But I did.

And somewhere between surviving those days and becoming the person I am today, I realised—

some phases don’t break you.
They introduce you to a stronger version of yourself.

I didn’t come out of it the same.

One day, I won’t be able to hold you like this.
You’ll have your own wings, your own choices, and a world that won’t always be gentle with you.

But until then, I’ll hold you a little tighter. 🤍

I promise I’ll never leave you to face the world alone. I’ll stand beside you, protect you when you need me, and most importantly — teach you to stand for yourself.

I don’t want to raise a girl who thinks she has to be quiet to be loved, adjust to be accepted, or tolerate what hurts her just to keep the peace.

I want you to know your worth.
To use your voice.
To set boundaries without guilt.
To walk away when you’re not respected.
And to never shrink yourself just to make someone else comfortable.

Motherhood mein sabko advice deni hoti hai…
par maa ko apne tareeke se jeene dena, apparently optional hai. 🙂

Jab tak nayi maa wahi kare jo “sabke hisaab se sahi” hai — she’s a good mother.
Jaise hi woh apne baby ke liye apni choice lene lage, suddenly everyone has an opinion.

A new mother doesn’t need more people telling her what to do.
She needs the freedom to figure out what works for her and her baby. ❤️

And honestly, every mother deserves to hear this:
“Tum apne baby ko apne tareeke se raise kar sakti ho.”

I thought becoming a mother would require me to be strong.

Turns out, becoming her mother is what made me strong. ❤️

I was scared. I had doubts. I had absolutely no idea how I was going to figure everything out.

But motherhood has a funny way of teaching you as you go.

You learn to understand the cries.
You learn to function on very little sleep.
You learn to put someone else's needs before your own.
And somehow, you discover a version of yourself you didn't know existed.

To my little girl —
thank you for not just making me a mom,
but for making me realise how much I am capable of. 🥹❤️

1 AM: Awake.
2 AM: Still awake.
3 AM: Still trying to sleep.
4 AM: Finally asleep. 😴
6 AM: “Good morning, Mumma!” 🥲

And that's how my baby gets her sleep… by borrowing mine. 😂

Somewhere between night feeds, cuddles, soothing and endless wake-ups, I forgot what a full night of sleep feels like. 🤍

Mom life = tired, sleepy, but still showing up. 🫶🏻
