This One Was For Me!

I’ve been through a lot the past few years. Pain I didn’t ask for. Loss that changed me. Tears that came in waves (still does). And somehow I still found a way to keep moving, and I kept showing up - for everyone but me.

But this year…it’s different. This year, it’s about me. My healing. My growth. My strength.

Hyrox wasn’t just a race. It was a reflection of everything I’ve walked through and everything I’ve fought to rise from. Every stride, every rep, every breath was fueled by something deeper. I didn’t run for a patch or a time. I ran for the version of me that refused to give up, even when life hurt the most.

Some views make you forget everything for a moment. Others remind you of everything - the beauty, the pain, the losses, the lessons, the prayers, the healing…and just how far you’ve come.

There are chapters of my life I would never choose to relive, but I can’t deny the woman they created. The beauty and the pain have both had a hand in becoming her. So I stood here quiet…grateful, and in awe of how much life can hurt you and still be breathtakingly beautiful. 🌅 🌊✨

Truth is, I wasn’t thrilled with my time.

But a little distance has a way of changing your perspective. Looking back, I’m reminded that not every race is about a PR. Sometimes it’s about showing up, putting in the work, and finishing what you started.

Houston wasn’t perfect, but I did that shit.

As the weekend comes to an end, my heart is full. My son Jordan graduated from Navy Boot Camp (Ship 7, DIV 065) this past Thursday. To say that I’m proud is truly an understatement.

In addition to family, some of his homies showed up for him all the way from Texas. Even though they couldn’t attend the actual ceremony, they showed up anyway and that meant everything. The love and support his friends poured into him was unmatched.

He’s officially left the nest, and while my mama heart feels all the feels 🥺, it’s also overflowing with gratitude. My cup has truly been filled these past few days.

Jordan, you’re about to embark upon a whole new chapter, and I pray it’s one filled with growth, purpose, and adventure. I trust that God has gone before you, is walking beside you, and will cover you in every step ahead. His plans are bigger than my prayers, and my prayers are constant. I love you son.💙⚓️🙏🏽
