Indianapolis said SPEEDWAY 🏎️
My stomach said ISLAND TIME. 🌴😂

And honestly? My stomach won.

Kau Kau Hawaiian BBQ @kaukauspeedway was a delicious little surprise near the Speedway, proving once again that some of the best food discoveries happen when you’re not expecting them.

Collecting experiences, not things… but I’m absolutely collecting food stops. 🍚🤌

I have a confession. I went to Monti’s for the food, but I might need to start a fan club for the buffalo sauce. 😂🔥

The lineup:
🥖 Cheesesteak sampler with Classic, Southside Johnny & Rocky minis on Philly Amoroso rolls
🍟 Fries, because obviously
🥨 Soft pretzel nuggets
🍗 Wingman Wings in Lemon Oregano and Buffalo

And ALL the wing sauces are made in-house! 👏

The wings were juicy, the cheesesteaks hit the spot, and that creamy buffalo sauce has been living rent-free in my head ever since.

Bonus points for the cozy neighborhood vibe and football-ready setup. 🏈

Apparently “just getting an appetizer” is not in my vocabulary.

Yelp Chicago said dinner was on the agenda, so obviously I showed up hungry.

We started with the calamari and Brussels sprouts, then things escalated quickly.

The lobster melt came with bisque for dipping, which… YES.

And we also tried the spicy vodka pasta because apparently restraint was not invited to dinner.

This was part of a Yelp Elite experience at Hampton Social, where we got a complimentary shared appetizer.

Food, friends and a little Yelp perk? I’ll take it!

You know that trip where you keep saying, “Okay, one more stop”? Yeah… this was that trip. 😂

Our home base was Boston Marriott Cambridge—steps from the T, with comfy rooms, great views, a bright fitness center, and rooftop pickleball.

Then we ate our way through Boston: lobster roll and black pasta at The Daily Catch, Florentine cannoli at Bova’s, and a literal tiramisu cart at Porto.

We squeezed in the Boston Public Library, Isabella Gardner Museum, Boston Lights, Chinatown, and SoWa First Fridays.

Then came $1 oysters at Batifol, cocktails and small bites at Buttermilk & Bourbon, AYCE Parisian style brunch at Batifol and another lobster roll from Yankee Lobster.

48 hours. So many side quests. Save this for some randomness next time you’re roaming around Boston.
