โ€œIt is with the heaviest of hearts that we share the devastating news that Captain Garrett Pearson passed away unexpectedly at just 30 years old following a tragic accident during MARSOC training off the coast of South Florida. Garrett was an amazing man, a devoted husband, but most of all an incredible father. His greatest joy was his family - his wife, Autumn, and their two beautitul little girls, Maisie (3), He loved them so deeply. Garrett was the friend you always had in your corner, accompanied by his audibly extraordinary reality, having to grieve the love of her life while navigating the emotional devastation, there are immediate and unexpected financial burdens, including funeral and memorial a husband and father. We are asking our family, friends, community, and anyone whose heart is touched by this story to help comfort Autumn and her girls during this incredibly difficult time.โ€ taken in MCB Camp Lejeune by @veloces

The U.S. military has officially ended Operation Inherent Resolve in Iraq, itโ€™s counter-ISIS mission. ISIS was absolutely obliterated during the campaign, mainly due to U.S. air support. However, the mission came at the cost of 25 U.S. combat deaths, 98 non-combat deaths, and 499 wounded. What started out as a small contingent of SOF in 2014 turned into tens of thousands of Americans deploying to Iraq, Syria, Jordan and Kuwait over the past 12 years. The DoD reported the early cost of operations averaged roughly $8.3 million to $13.6 million per day costing American taxpayers over $80,000,000,000 in total. Limited operations can continue to take place in Syriaโ€ฆ Anyways, hereโ€™s some pictures of the boys during a few trips. by @veloces

Story Time:
No matter how gay it gets and how much of a child your command sometimes treats you like, remember there are still Americans out there that trust you to hold up the legacy of men like Captain Stanford Shaw III.

This weekend at the Jersey Shore, the boys randomly met the family of Captain Stanford Shaw III. Shaw was killed in 2015 after MOJO 69, the UH-60 in which he and 7 other members of MSOT 8231, crashed during training. One of his cousins saw one of our brandโ€™s shirts and headbands that we were wearing and instantly started tearing up. He said he had been following Veloces for years and began ranting about how much he loved MARSOC and how proud he was of the community. He was so proud to pull up his camera roll and show us the pictures of his cousin from when they were kids, Shaw with his team in Afghanistan, and family pictures up until the time of the accident. He said he visits his grave weekly and just thought of the world of the men, the mission, and the community. Between the 4 of us, we rattled off the 8XXX numbers that we had been a part of and he was in awe. We let him know that Captain Shawโ€™s legacy still hangs around 2nd MRB and that his picture hangs above the bar at @pourhousewilm.
