I made my last painting on June 19th, 2024. Since then, I’ve been caught in a whirlwind trying to figure out how to balance my creative passions as a fashion designer and a visual artist. For over a year, I kept art at arm’s length, unsure how to hold space for both. But now, after some soul-searching (and a few divine nudges), I think I finally have my answer art is something I can never walk away from.

Earlier this year, I got two unexpected phone calls from my old art teachers one from junior high, one from senior high.A spark I thought had dimmed lit right back. And now, I’ve been commissioned by my SHS art teacher for a painting. I couldn’t say no. Honestly? I didn’t want to.

It’s scary I won’t lie. I’m nervous about how this will turn out, wondering if I’ve gotten a little rusty.But maybe fear is part of the process. Maybe it means I care.

So here I am, standing at the edge of what feels like a creative comeback. I don’t know exactly what’s next, but I do know this, I can’t wait to start my next collection.
