This is my entry for @areyoubookenough and this month theme « ancient ». A little zine made from a picture printed on cotton paper.
I took it while hiking in the wheat fields of Val di Pienza in Tuscany (where I live).
Ancient as in « grano antico » an ancient grain called Senatore Capelli and widely cultivated in Tuscany, renowned for higher protein content, rich mineral values, and superior digestibility or tolerability compared to modern mass-market wheats.
I touched up my picture with water color and embroidered it with (not quite ancient but nevertheless quite old) linen thread. by @verbal18

My entry for #areyoubookenough June challenge ”Circus”.
Memories from childhood came back to me. Old-fashioned circus. Those red and white stripes…
I’m glad the use of animals is banished nowadays in most modern circuses…
This is my fist attempt at a tunnel books😉 by @verbal18

I missed the deadline; this is (was) my entry for the May #areyoubookenough challenge “Poetry”
A little flagbook with extracts of poems by one my favorite French poet Paul Eluard.

Tu as toutes les joies solaires
Tout le soleil sur la terre
Sur les chemins de ta beauté.

My entry for April #areyoubookenough challenge « blueprint ». A little flagbook (my first) inspired by nature and cyanotype - conveniently blue and used once upon a time for blueprints! - Not very original, I agree but I love cyanotype and it gave me the impulse to try this new book form (the flagbook) that I find very whimsical … by @verbal18

I confess I had a hard time finding an idea for the theme @areyoubookenough of this month “clothing”…
Then came to my mind a French proverb “l’habit ne fait pas le moine”; it literally translates as “the dress does not make the monk”.
Funnily enough the equivalent in English is : “ you can’t judge a book by its cover”!…
Here it is… by @verbal18

For aybe’s theme of January, @areyoubookenough I chose to illustrate my origins, more precisely in rendering a tribute to the women in my family and their influence on my creative self. I used the structure of a blizzard book which allowed me to insert opposite each photo an envelop hiding a little thank you note… A keepsake to protect precious memories.
Cover made from used poster of Beato Angelico representing La Madonna and child , old envelops from the 30’s, old paper music from my grandma, cyanotype pictures by @verbal18

Colors are everywhere in nature and some time ago I was lucky enough to follow a workshop on inkmaking with Auria from @vintagefable ; it opened a whole new world from botanical printing to chlorophyll printing … but this will be for another theme maybe😉
