Project sideboard complete. I’m So pleased with the end result. The walnut pops off the white so beautifully, and the variances in grain direction gives it that ‘pearl’ effect, gifting you different shades of tone as you move across. Overtime, and depending on sunlight exposure, walnut oxidises to a dark ginger which I don’t particularly like. Oxidation to Quarter cut walnut, which I’ve used here, is usually less noticeable. I’ve added an extra dimension by holding the grain direction to the edge of the doors( my mentors would be proud). With Noah’s art on the wall and with @kimmie_h19 pinch pot tea light candle and leaf incense holder, I think we’ll be admiring this part of our home a little more… PS, normal sideboard use will resume after this post- a dumping ground for keys, bags, and Amazon parcels. #furnituredesign #interiors #walnut #art #pinchpot #home by @vernonchendricks

The best day! Watching Arsenal play live with my main Gunner!

The thought of wearing a @arsenal jersey as a @Liverpool supporter is rather painful but the memory of experiencing it with Noah, supporting his team is one I’ll cherish.
Would have been epic to share the day with the other Gunners; my Dad and @derek_eyden, but that’s a day to look forward to and that I’d need a few pints for.

A dream we knew we wanted to live, a dream that all of the universe conspired in helping us achieve. Big love and thanks to @challenge.steph and @lexluckhoo for making it possible❤️.

Ps, that’s not me kissing the #gunner badge.

Alcove book shelves look good!

On to the next, Kim has been nagging me to get the bedroom done! I’ve spent a chunk of time designing a headboard and pedestals and Been experimenting with a range of materials. Off the beaten track from my normal design process but I Figured to change things up a little, a bit of a challenge.

Should be interesting…

Had so much fun designing and building these alcove book shelves with Noah.

Taught him the ins and outs of furniture making. I Shared some design philosophy and best practices, and we also spoke about the value of being valuable in one’s chosen profession.

There may have been a little discussion about Girls…

Just an awesome experience!
Now to decide on a colour and paint.

A familiar place, our second home.
A safe space to exhale, to learn, to express.
Where I am the artist and the art. A work in progress on the mat and ‘out there’, but it’s here that I find harmony between the two.

@paulbusbymartialarts has created this space with sheer will to win, to serve the community. A state of the art facility to cater for the hobbyist and professional alike. Thanks to you and the team for gifting this labour of love.

@rgamarlow is truly a second home. We don’t see a life without it.
