Testing the new Arcana 1.5x anamorphic from @dzofilm, a perfect match for FF widescreen sensors like the FX6. There are a few of these on the market but these feel like an upgrade. Really pleasing fall off and sharp where you need it at T2.1. Engineered with an elliptical 14-blade iris for that waterfall-style bokeh and characteristic neutral flares. Footage was shot in S-Log 3 and pulled down with an Arri Neutral Phantom LUT. These lenses are now available in the shop. by @vforvincent

I spent the morning catching up with my old friend Sam Hook to learn a little more about the story behind her project Tidal Theory. You can find Sam’s studio in Honolulu’s historic Chinatown. It is a magical space, filled with light and a cool breeze that flows down from Nu’uanu valley. It is the kind of dreamy space where you think such treasures would be made in.

You can find her work online or check it at @opensealeather in Chinatown. by @vforvincent

Thankful for this year, to be able to call this place home. Grateful for my family and my lady @gabriella_leilani for all her love and support. With you everything feels possible. Creating a family has taught me so much and I’m grateful for everyday I get with you guys. Thankful for all the opportunities 2022 has given me, and to be able to grow a business and have a life at all after 2020. Thankful for what all the good years and the not so good years have taught me. by @vforvincent

I wasn’t paying attention to my exposure and had the iris stopped down to like f22 at like 1/500th shutter speed when I snapped this on my 645. It was a happy accident. The colors came out garishly over-saturated and everything else but the flowers wasn’t exposed. When I scanned it in I thought it was a loss but ended up being one of my favorite shots on the roll. I didn’t bother trying to clean up the dust. taken in ARVO by @vforvincent
