Does it really all come to an end, 32 years after it's start???

Shall we still be serving the metal masses???

So it's official folks, if you haven't seen the facebook page post... After 32 years it's all done. Thanks for the memories and all...

"Well, folks, it's all come to an end...
After 32 years of this magazine's existence, it all comes to a final, abrupt halt on March 5th of this year... Get what you want from the site, because it's being deleted for good...

Online since 1992 (and the radio show since roughly 2016), it's time for this chapter to close for good... Interest has waned down to nothing and there are several reasons it's going for good...
The main one is our hosting server... Every year for the past 6 years they have gone up on our server costs... From around $170 a year to the now outrageous $260 and I flat out refuse to pay it...

Not only that, but the certificate which I paid for 5 years for refuses to work on the site, which gives you that "unsafe" message that doesn't even allow you to see the home page. I tried numerous things to get it back up and running to no avail.

And folks, I'm tired... I just don't have the passion for underground music anymore like I used to. The band Broken Trinity is all I have left and if that tanks, that's pretty much it... Tried everything to make the site generate some cash and interest, and in this era of everybody wanting everything for free and the music scene driven so deep underground it's damn near non existent, what's the point anymore?

People barely go to shows anymore... And even overseas bands don't traverse these shores much anymore... I'm pretty much done with it all... Unless someone wants to buy the site (which I doubt) it's gone as of March of this year...

Thanks to all those that once showed an interest... I don't even hear from those people anymore... by @vibrationsofdoommagazine

Some of you may not know this, but we've been working on an ambient/electronic/spacey project called Duckie Magic...

We unleashed the first full length for this on bandcamp, entitled "From Another Realm Before This One." Spacey, electronic, very little percussion, no vocals, and ethereal.

Check it out at:

**SHOCKING NEWS!!**

Still can't believe that as of May of this year, several bands have been announced for the 70,000 Tons Of Metal Cruise already!

Sodom was one of the first ones I saw on this list. Sodom, My Dying Bride and Draconian. Reason enough for me to wanna go!!

They never linked back to us but hey, I wanna go on this thing next year...

The latest album from long running Florida act Hellwitch is coming!!

"Annihilational Intercention" will be unleashed on June 30th through Listenable Records...

It's a mixture of technical death and thrash metal... Not really my cup of tea; it's a dizzying affair with some wicked vocal work.

In case you're looking for something new to listen to...

Heavy, psychedelic stoner doom metal outfit known as Owls & Eagles (why those two "birds?" Dunno), hailing from Canada, dropped the heavy lifting "Patience Volume 1" on us on June 1st...

Ranging from melodic and mellow to balls-out rockin' fuzz diving riff bombs, this 7 track affair brings the heaviness.... Not sure why they aren't on the Encyclopedia Metallum yet, but who knows what's going on over there...

Two sample tracks enclosed for ya here... IF there ever is another DOOM Radio broadcast (let alone the vibrationsofdoom.com website beyond the renewal date next year), we will probably play 'em...

Dig their instagram page too... Why the fuck not?

R.I.P. Algy Ward.

The man, the myth, the legend. Started his career with the legendary band The Damned before forming Tank, a kick ass New Wave Of British Heavy Metal band... First picture of course is Algy with the mighty Lemmy from Motorhead, and second pic is Algy (foreground) standing with A.C. Wild from the 80's Italian thrashers known as Bulldozer...

Besides forming and running Tank for many years, Algy also produced Bulldozer's debut release, and one of the most kick ass examples of prototypical blackened speed/thrash records in their 1985 debut "The Day Of Wrath."

Dammit...

Go listen to the "Honor And Blood" album from Tank, unarguably the one containing some of their best songs they ever recorded, at the vibrationsofdoom.com classic albums page or here:

There hasn't been much going on with Vibrations Of Doom Magazine/DOOM Radio these days... Just haven't felt like doing something that garners little attention... 40 hour a week jobs take priority...

ANYWAY...

Atmospheric black metal masters known as Fen will release their newest epic album "Monuments To Absence" on July 7th, once again through Prophecy Productions...

Take some time to familiarize yourself with their massive and criminally underrated body of works...

Check out the video from the album for the track 'Truth Is Futility' in all it's glory here:

This is going to be a rather interesting feature, as it will cover bands that for some reason either A. Never made it to the Encyclopedia Metallum or B. Were on there but somehow got dumped (either by politics or mods getting pissed off for some unknown reason)...

DISCLAIMER: The Encyclopedia Metallum is a wonderful resource. I use it constantly. HOWEVER, I think sometimes bands get pushed off of there for "not being metal enough." I think sometimes the mods play favorites, but it is what it is. They never consult guys who have been "in the business," so to speak... Guys like me who have put 30 years into things...

ANYWAY...

The band Cold Body Radiation from the Netherlands released their debut album for Dusktone records in 2010 entitled "The Great White Emptiness."

What's on display here is definitely atmospheric and almost ambient styled "shoegaze" but make no mistake; the black metal is dirty, heavily distorted and full of Nordic coldness... My guess is there wasn't enough of the black metal to satisfy the E.M. staff... Still, it's a great effort that would see Cold Body Radiation release three more albums and an EP before going their own way with 2019's "I Fell Into The Unknown Light."

Second picture is how I received this disc; a CD with a yellow paper insert with all the details... Dunno if the band is still around, but Dusktone went on to release quite a few albums, and the label is still around. Some of their most noteworthy bands released on the label were Israel's The Bishop Of Hexen (HOW did I not know about this!?!?), Opera IX from Italy, and Old Forest from the U.K.

Damn, I gotta go grab that Bishop Of Hexen latest release!!
