As 2024 comes to an end, I want to share some moments of dreams came true. I finally took some time off and returned to China’s porcelain capital, Jingdezhen, where I had the privilege to learn from a master of the slab-building technique. I was always Inspired by the geometric simplicity in modern architectures, it feels incredible to incorporate these skills in my work and continue to explore new forms with intentions.

Jingdezhen has changed quite a bit since I last visited five years ago. The city is now buzzing with artist studios, full of young people chasing their dreams. The enthusiasm for ceramics—whether through traditional techniques or modern production innovations—is truly contagious.

It was such a treat to immerse myself in this culture where happiness feels so simple, and the work is deeply fulfilling. Clay has a way of drawing you in, and I can’t wait to learn, experiment, and create more in the coming year! by @vickietomato

The SF Marathon felt like a dream! Or is it a dream come true? 🏃‍♀️✨ A week ago, @cliffjhun and I finally checked off our bucket list of running a full marathon. It’s hilly, but the views were incredible! I’m now fully recovered and wondering… what’s next? by @vickietomato

Another incredible year of #STP finished! 🚴‍♀️ Thanks to @cascadebicycle for having me as the event ambassador once again. 💕 Every year this event brought together around 5000 riders of different abilities and skill levels for an unforgettable journey from Seattle to Portland.

Over 206 miles, we rode through bustling cities, serene countryside, scenic bike trails, and even JBLM. This ride is not only a testament to our physical fitness but also a mental challenge to stay focused and, most importantly, to have fun!

This year, I experienced my first crash on the bike trails in Tenino/Yelm. It was a humbling reminder of the importance of staying focused, especially in the heat. It also highlighted how much effort goes into keeping our bike infrastructure safe and accessible. I am incredibly grateful for all the advocacy!

Looking forward to the next adventure as we ride north from Seattle to Vancouver! 🚴‍♀️✨

🚴‍♀️✨ Hey STP riders! Looks like we have some warm and sunny days ahead of us. Are we ready to beat this heat and enjoy this epic weekend?? Here are some of my tips based on last years hot ride:

1️⃣ Start with SPF: Slather a good layer of your favorite SPF all over your face. Don’t miss your ears and neck!

2️⃣ Cap it off: A cycling cap isn’t just stylish—it helps shield your face from the sun and keeps sweat from dripping down and washing away your sunscreen. Total game changer on those hot summer days!

3️⃣ Reapply on the go: Sunscreen wears off, especially on high-sweat zones like your cheeks and nose. Pack a sunblock stick for easy touch-ups every 2 to 3 hours. They’re super convenient and mess-free!

4️⃣ Cool down trick: A thin neck bandanna not only protects your neck and face when needed but also feels amazing when splashed with a bit of water (or ice) on those scorching days.

5️⃣ Don’t forget limbs: Exposed arms and legs need love too. Apply sunscreen there, or even better, wear breezy long sleeves for added protection.

6️⃣ Most importantly: Bring TWO water bottles and hydrate frequently!

Winthrop is such a hidden gem in the North Cascades! Had a blast on this 3-day gravel bike ride with @cascadebicycle through Methow Valley, with its scenic gravel roads and wildflowers everywhere. Seriously, the views around every corner were just stunning, and those hills? Perfect prep for the upcoming STP ride.
