PRAKSIS Presents Issue 12: Your Pleasure, Our Pain features an illustrated essay by artist Victoria Duffee. This deeply personal and creative expression takes readers into Duffee’s own deeply conflicted position and her experience of pursuing clarity through her experience of the residency. The resulting work offers a refreshingly frank perspective on luxury; - as well as a method of seeing and experiencing that is deeply human.

This issue extends the conversations of PRAKSIS residency 28, Your Pleasure Our Pain: The Ethics of Luxury, exploring luxury’s promises and contradictions, its costs across supply chains, environments and communities, and the possibilities of alternatives beyond exclusivity.
