My not-so-little secret’s out!

Beyond thrilled to announce @shailenewoodley will be our star for ULTRA. Cannot wait to go on this journey with you, Shai! We’re going to make a stunning film!

And to my producers who have stuck with me through thick and thin. @imjonread & @zombieallison, thank you for fighting for all the right things to ensure this project will be a success. You are the best in the biz.

@iristorres9, I know everything is going to go smoothly when you’re by my side on set! Thank you for working tirelessly to push ULTRA forward!

And my EPs - @sainttoby of Sailor Bear. Thank you for your experience in knowing how to guide a project the right direction, (and all our chats about running!)

And the team at End Cue - Andrew, Lisa and Gina, I am grateful for your surge of energy and efforts over the past year.

And @deru - can’t wait for when we get to score the film!!!

Special shout-out to @ryderwhite for always believing in me and this project.

Thank you to my reps Jill and Gabe at @entertainment360.

And WME and Mister Smith Entertainment for your support.

And lastly, the incredible Chris Kostman of @badwaterhq. You will never know the extent to which inviting me out to Badwater so many years ago has truly changed my life. I am a better person because of ultras. Forever thank you ❤️ by @victorianegri

I am flying high. Over the past week I experienced another life-affirming event in the @javelinajundred 100-miler.

My confidence in myself as a human is through the roof. When I began my running journey, I was different. I attacked difficult things career wise, but most emotional challenges I avoided. I was unaware of this, very good at channeling things into “work”, which yeah, isn’t great.

What running ultras has taught me is that I no longer avoid uncomfortable feelings. I cherish the time to face them.

There were moments in the dead of night where I purposefully went into my cavern of emotional discomfort and dissected how I felt and what I could do about it with a sense of curiosity and self-discovery.

The answer: Sit in it. Feel it. Move through it. Don’t ignore it. You are okay. You are strong.

I ran through blisters and a painful hamstring issue, which both went away with time. I didn’t ignore them, but addressed them, stretched, fixed my feet, and became faster in the end. A beautiful physical metaphor for facing the emotional pain to heal in the end and become stronger.

I finished the race proud of myself. Not for the 100-mile distance as much as the person I am continuing to become.

And I’m so grateful for the community of folks out there who shared this experience together, the race staff and my friends, cheering each other on, sharing stories, meals and adventure.

And shoutout to @the_phbalance for these beautiful running photos on our Sedona adventure.

This mermaid is rolling in!!!! 💥🧜🏻‍♀️🌊

“MERMAID, B-TCH” is now available to watch on @omeleto! 🥳

🔗 in bio!

Congrats to our entire team, proud to have made this whacky film!

From Omeleto:
“Directed by Victoria Negri from a script co-written with Alexi Pappas, this sharp and whimsical short comedy is both a postmodern riff on fairytales and a witty, well-observed portrait of female friendship in all its joys and travails. Blending both a rough-edged yet sunny Californian naturalism with fantastical, colorful elements in its visuals, the storytelling has a modern saltiness, an edge that befits two young women having fun, improvising their way into adulthood and driving each other slightly nuts as they go along. But it also has a core of tenderness that speaks to the genuine love and connection between them, one buried under layers of resentment and irritation.“

I didn’t want the @mychemicalromance concert to happen because that meant it would end.

We’ve had these tickets for a literal year.

I’ve loved this band since high school and will never stop loving them.

Ran through the desert at night during one of my ultras listening to “Famous Last Words” while the stars were shining, and thought of everything that I’ve been through.

Seeing @backstreetboys at the Sphere was like giving my pre-teen self the biggest hug and telling her she’s awesome and special and worthy of having the best time of her life. Do something that your younger you would say OH MY GOD THAT IS SO COOL. 💙🪩🎶 taken in Las Vegas, Nevada by @victorianegri

Today is Global Running Day, and of course, I gotta chime in. I don’t know who I would be without running. I am grateful that my body is able to cover such long distances. I’ve met inspirational, down to earth, lovely people in this sport, and I am honored to share so many adventures with them. Here I am with @hungry_vegan_runner at @badwaterhq Salton Sea 81 miler this past April.

Latest Substack post linked in bio.

@rachel__entrekin’s epic performance at @cocodona250 opened up a new angle to my writing about my experience at @badwaterhq Salton Sea, 81 mile run.

Thinking about imposter syndrome, anxiety and mindset. Thinking about togetherness and the team effort with @hungry_vegan_runner and our lovely crew.

It’s surreal to travel extremely far by foot. Whilst in the act of running an ultra, the starting point and finish line both feel mentally out of reach. You feel adrift at sea, floating in space, looking for a life preserver to carry you home.

It’s terrifying to take risks. You begin to question, as Rachel did, am I capable?!

But what you should be asking is,

“WHY NOT ME?”

“Ultra anxiety.”

That’s the term @hungry_vegan_runner shared with me, as I expressed my fears early on at @badwaterhq Salton Sea last weekend. We were only about 10 miles into the race and I felt a blister forming. The heat was starting to get to me. We still had 71 miles left. Ultra anxiety is normal, it will pass, she assured me.

And it did. And we ran with smiles. And we laughed, and struggled together. I was worried I’d feel like an outsider, her team consisting of her husband Stu and their wonderful friend Josh, who have crewed her for many races.

The opposite happened.

Something happens when you are brave enough to voice discomfort and fear and ask for help. The problems become manageable.

The lessons I’ve learned and joy I felt running Badwater Salton Sea are impossible to express. Doing these massive races that scare me to death, where the stakes are high, instantly brings people together in an intense way. And I need that intensity in my life.

We don’t have time for small talk. We don’t have time to say - I’m too scared to try that. Life is short and if you surround yourself with people who feel the same, there is absolutely nothing you can’t do.

Forever grateful to Emily for inviting me to join her team, for @mounttocoast for sponsoring us, and for Chris Kostman at @badwaterhq for building a community of people that I love like family.

I am grateful.

I’m planning a longer written piece about the race on my Substack. Stay tuned.

I’ve done a bunch of ultras now, but this past Saturday I experienced a first - I had the joy of running @badwaterhq Cape Fear’s entire 51 mile course with @hungry_vegan_runner.

I’ve known Emily for years through the Badwater community, and there’s something magical that happens sharing miles and stories and smiles and joy and helping each other through the tough times. You quickly grow close, as an ultra feels like life compressed.

Next month we’ll be running Badwater Salton Sea, an 81 mile team race that we will do in its entirety together. Be a force of joy as you do hard things because every step forward is an opportunity for something new.

Anyway, yay running! Yay for adventures! taken in Badwater Cape Fear by @victorianegri

Attention phénomène! 🎥🏃‍♀️
