Pope Leo XIV for today’s 112th World Day of Migrants and Refugees, focused on children: “Each year the World Day of Migrants and Refugees invites us to turn our attention to different aspects of the complex phenomenon of migration. For this 112th World Day, the theme, “Even just one of these children,” draws our attention to the minors directly involved in the experience of migration and flight, to the care owed to them, and to the Lord’s promise that “whoever receives one such child in my name receives me” (Mk 9:37).”
“Even just one of these children calls each one of us, in our personal lives, to open our eyes and heart to a profound listening to his or her story, fears and dreams, overcoming that detachment which reduces the human person to a statistic that does not directly concern us. It is an invitation to recognize the dignity of each child, even before considering the condition of being a “migrant,” and to safeguard his or her fundamental rights: the right to life, education and a standard of living that enables full physical, *mental*, spiritual, moral and social development.

--------
Masses are celebrated across various parishes on World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10) to remind everyone that Christ is close to the brokenhearted and offers us His strength.

The key focus of these masses is to provide spiritual support, honor individuals lost to suicide, reduce the stigma surrounding suicide, and encourage open and compassionate conversations within the church community. by @victorpsanchez

Meeting and learning from Christian Bentley @c_m_bentley was of the most impactful personal highlights of last week’s International Association of Catholic Mental Health Ministers (CMHM) @catholicmhm Conference in Washington D.C. Christian’s lived experience of mental health and faith and his faith-driven compassion and ministry for people experiencing mental health challenges, especially among often neglected African American Catholics, is admirable and inspiring! “June is commonly known as Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month.

While much attention is given to men’s physical health, such as fitness, annual checkups, and heart health, mental well-being is just as vital because mental health is health!

Like the body, emotional and mental health also require care and attention.”
