“Moreover when ye fast…” - Matthew 6:16

“I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.” - Job 23:12

Biblical fasting is intentionally giving up food for a time in order to seek God, depend on Him, and devote ourselves more fully to prayer and His Word.

Jesus didn’t say if ye fast, He said when ye fast.

Fasting reminds our flesh that God is our true source. His presence is more necessary than our necessary food. 🙏🔥

Less of the flesh. More dependence on God. More prayer. More hunger for His Word. by @victory.baptist
