From the barrel to the table, the best wine stories are built through real connection. 🍷

Chef/owner Jorge Cota of @mochilerokitchen joined winemaker Kris Magnussen of @vinoslechuza in the barrel cellar in Valle de Guadalupe—pulling wine straight from barrel after a thoughtful side-by-side pairing lunch.

Beyond the bottles, we talked about the reality of being a small producer: the patience, risk, resilience, and daily challenges behind every vintage. Kris also shared what it means to build a life and winery as an immigrant, and the support she has found in the Valle community around her.

These are the moments that matter to us at @CompaDpirits. Creating bridges between the people growing the grapes, making the wine, cooking the food, and pouring the glass back home in Arizona.

Grape to glass. Bottle to table. Valle de Guadalupe to Scottsdale.

Salud to Kris, Jorge, and the community that makes Mexican wine so special.

Processing Grapes in Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico. This is one of my favorite times of year in Mexico. I get to help my friend Kris of @vinoslechuza start the harvest that turns into one of the best wines on the planet. With great pleasure, we pulled in our estate fruit. Since 2019, we have been coharvesting the four varieties grown on site- Nebbiolo, Cabernet, Merlot and Tempranillo. Named originally after my father, Reidar, and now my daughter, this label is very sacred to our family.

Special gratitude to our vineyard consultant, Chava @sgomez16oficial , and Ulysses, our vineyard manager for maintaining our beautiful spot.

Valle de Guadalupe weekend 🍇

🐑 Finca Altozano: Our dinner at Chef Javier Plascencia’s iconic open-air restaurant with wood-fired, farm-to-table cooking was incredible. Order the lamb birria.
🍷 Vinos Lechuza: We enjoyed a wine tasting with winemaker Kristin Magnussen. Their elegant wines taste even better when shared with the person who makes them.
🍽️ Bruma Wine Garden: Our lunch of shareable plates made with local ingredients at Chef David Castro Hussong’s restaurant was so good.
🥚 Salvia Blanca Cocina: Chef Tonatiuh Anzures’ restaurant was perfect for brunch with wood-fired dishes and ingredients straight from their own gardens.
