Everything I Ever Wanted to Know about Genocide I Learned in the 3rd Grade
🦃
Happy Turkey Day..
•
•
Third graders holding hands
Indians and pilgrims celebrating newfound lands
Tried to teach me that at school
Make the white race look superior, that’s always been their rule

Now I can’t believe we celebrate Thanksgiving
As a holiday of beauty and peace
If I had my way, we’d all dress in black
And daddy would serve up the white meat

‘Cause genocide is nothing to celebrate
Extinction don’t deserve a parade
Well, we perpetuate those lies with the turkeys that we buy
I tried to explain it to my mom but she’s too afraid

To admit to herself that her race is a killing machine
Take a look around your town
Take a look around your town
Take a look around your town and who do you see?

The Native American’s surprisingly absent
In his own indigenous land
If you want to know why, it’s because we killed them all
It’s not that hard to understand

So I go to college and you know what I learned?
That 80 million people were killed
By my grandpa, your grandpa, and all of their friends
They bleached out our continent but that’s not the end

The last full-blooded Aborigine
Died a century ago
And it’s possible there’s a place in the Southern hemisphere
With a history even worse than our own

No one finds it peculiar that a tropic island
Is full of people just like you and me
‘Cause Australia’s a piece of shit floating in the Pacific
Buoyed by the blood of the Aborigine taken in Chicago, Illinois by @vinylrecordtreasures

I can’t just let August 8th slip by without a lil NOFX love! Even though, I am the ultimate walking contradiction, with a Grateful Dead tattoo right next to a NOFX tattoo... this day is always bitter sweet for me✌🏼
Poor Jeff, Poor little Timmy Turtle, staying home on such a beautiful day... (Even though, Jerry technically died on August 9th..🤷🏻‍♂️)

Such a classic record, and maybe one of the most underrated in the discography.

30 years ago today, March 1st, 1994, @sublime released their majorly underrated classic and essential album ‘Robbin’ the Hood’

Seemed like a worthy anniversary to pop back up for a rare post over here. Bradley Nowell’s untimely passing will forever be one of music’s greatest losses. Turn this one up nice and loud today in his honor.

⚔️IMMORTAL⚔️
November 1st, 1993 - THIRTY years ago TODAY, the legendary ‘Pure Holocaust’ was brought forth unto the world!
Unleashing the unsilent storms of the north abyss, forever keeping our hearts in the grip of utter-eternal frost, ready to march into battle in the endlessly frozen mountains of Blashyrkh! One of the bands that quite literally changed the course of my life.. HAIL ABBATH! HAIL DEMONAZ! HAIL IMMORTAL!❄️

10 years gone today.
Felt like a moment worthy of popping back up for a moment.
💔
Ever since I first got into punkrock, nearly 30 years ago, Tony was consistently one of my most beloved singers/songwriters/influences/inspirations. My heart still breaks a little bit, every time I listen to any of his songs, knowing we will never hear any new music from him.. but, alas, so it goes... RIP TONY SLY, you and your music are truly loved and truly missed forever.💔 Everybody blast a song or two in his honor and memory today!
