Book 149 of 2026 📚 2as Marrow by @visha.graves.author
This book was absolutely beautiful and harrowing all in the same breathe. We get Calvera's story and we find out more about who she is and what she does. My heart breaks for her. She's a shell of the person she used to be and she's stuck because the Carnivale never truly let's you go.

I absolutely adored her relationship with Gideon and Jude. That even though she claims she can't love she chose to spend her nights with them each night.

As always ending with one of my favorite quotes/interal monolog from the book:
"He is the memory I can never wash away, and the boys are the fire I use to keep from freezing solid." by @visha.graves.author

The face behind the stories that get under your skin. 🖤

I write about love, obsession, grief, desire, darkness, damaged people, complicated choices, and all the beautiful little disasters that happen in between.

Not every story ends the same.
Not every character survives unchanged.
And not every love story follows the rules.

But every story is meant to leave something behind.

Stories That Get Under Your Skin.
Come Get Comfortable in the Uncomfortable.

Marrow by @visha.graves.author

Tropes:
Erotic Body Horror
Monster FMC
Graphic Violence
Knife & Blood Play

They say The Colony Carnivale appears without warning—rolling into forgotten towns under blood-red skies, offering laughter, lights, and salvation for the bored and broken. But beneath the painted tents, hides a different sin, each act a different obsession. Lust. Power. Revenge. Fear. The Carnivale feeds on it all—and so do the souls trapped inside..
The games are rigged, the prizes are cursed, and the performers aren’t quite human. So buy your ticket, brave the insanity, and pray the lights go out after you do. Because once you enter, the show owns you.
Welcome to The Colony Carnivale—where the fun never dies, it just screams louder. Calvera Bloodwright was born to dance.

The Carnivale taught her how to break.

By day, she is a contortionist ballerina, folding herself into elegance for a world that prefers not to look too closely.
By night, beneath the black-licorice haze of Delirium, she becomes the Marrowmaker—an artist who reshapes living bodies, harvesting bone, blood, and soul to feed a sentient Carnivale that breathes, watches, and remembers.

Calvera does not kill for pleasure.
She creates masterpieces.

But the Carnivale is always hungry, and so are the men who orbit her ruin. Jude offers silk and reverence. Gideon offers leather and heat. Both love her with a devotion that rots them from the inside out. Neither can give her what she no longer possesses.

As ghosts from her past claw their way back into the light—and the Showmaster tightens his grip—Calvera must confront the truth she has spent her life avoiding:

She is not broken.
She is hollow.
And she is still performing.

MARROW is a dark, erotic descent into body horror, coercive devotion, and intimacy used as anesthesia. There is no salvation here. Only sincerity. Only sacrifice. Only the beautiful, irreversible damage of a girl shaped into art by something that will never let her go.

Step into the tent.
The Carnivale is waiting for your bones.

I’ve been a little quiet lately, and I wanted to give a quick update from both sides of my life. 🤍

Right now, my pregnancy and my family need every bit of my energy. I’m currently in the hospital, and my biggest focus is keeping our girl safe and keeping her where she needs to be for as long as possible.

Because of that, I’m stepping back from the author side of things for a while. Messages, comments, questions, art, projects, plans, posting, and everything else can wait. If I don’t respond, please don’t take it personally. I’m not ignoring anyone. I simply don’t have the capacity to keep up with everything right now.

That also means Beg for Mercy is being moved to a December release. This wasn’t an easy decision, but I need to give myself the space to focus on my family without constantly worrying about deadlines, releases, and everything that comes with being an author.

The book isn’t going anywhere. ❤️‍🩹

For now, it’s me, my family, and this baby. Everything else can sit on the shelf until I’m ready to pick it back up.

Thank you for understanding, for being patient with me, and for giving me the space to be quiet while I focus on what actually matters right now.

I’ll be back when I’m able. 🩷 by @visha.graves.author
