Welcome to Yachats

Yachats is a place that whispers.
Where the forest meets the sea not in a clash, but in quiet conversation.
Moss grows thick here, time moves gently, and even the smallest things are given room to matter.

You won’t find big box stores or traffic lights.
Instead, there are tide pools that mirror the sky, trails that meander rather than race, shop windows filled with things made by hand and heart.

Prayer flags catch the breeze. A mermaid is carved into a doorway. A garden sits just outside City Hall.
Not for show. Simply because someone cared enough to place them there.

Yachats is slow, but never sleepy.
It’s alive in a way that asks you to notice.
To listen for the hush between waves, to greet the wind, to thank the rain.
To wander without an agenda and realize you’ve found more than you were looking for.

This is not a place to conquer or consume.
It’s a place that brings you back to your senses, where meaning lives in the mist and depth reveals itself in the details.

Community still matters here. The land leads the way. Visitors are welcomed like neighbors, as long as they tread lightly.

Yachats doesn’t shout.
It invites.
Slow by nature.
And all the more powerful because of it.

🍄 Mushroom Treasure Hunt Season is back, with a twist!!

This year, we’re changing things up.
Every Saturday, clues will drop by 10am, pointing you toward a general area where a special clay disc is hidden. Find one, bring it to the Visitors Center, and trade it in for your treasure!

✨ One disc = one treasure 🍄 One treasure per person, per weekend

Just like last year, this season we’re making the hunt a little more adventurous. Clues and photos will get you into the general area, but finding the disc is up to you.

📍 Clues for this week’s hidden treasure:
 1️⃣ Where the winds have room to wander and the Stone Shelter sits up high, look around where moss and green things grow, your little find may be hiding nearby.
 2️⃣ Follow the 804 until it meets the sea, where seaside stairs open to the view. With salty air and waves below, look around for something waiting for you.
 3️⃣ South of the cape, where tall trees rise and Gwynn winds quietly through the green, follow the trail through ferns and forest, and keep your eyes open for what might be seen.
 4️⃣ Where waves crash and sea lions call, and the viewing deck looks out to sea, wander near where the ocean meets the shore, your little treasure may be waiting quietly.

📆 From October 17 – February 27, we’re hiding 4 treasure discs every Saturday around Yachats! Find one, bring it to the Visitors Center, and trade it in for your treasure!

King tide season is around the corner!

⁉️A King Tide is a non-scientific term people often use to describe exceptionally high tides.

“The effect of individual King Tides may vary considerably. In some cases, they may barely even be noticed. In other cases, a King Tide may cause coastal erosion, flooding of low-lying areas, and disruption to normal daily routines.
