Nizwa by night is something else entirely. ✨Here’s how I’d spend a perfect evening in Oman’s ancient capital :🍢 Start with dinner at Kwareg a rooftop terrace, generous grilled dishes, simple and absolutely delicious🛍️ Wander through the Nizwa Souq; silver, pottery, frankincense. We drove 1h30 from Muscat, the Hajar mountains slowly rising from the desert outside the window. At the end of that road — Nizwa.One of Oman’s oldest cities. A place where the old town hasn’t been dressed up for tourists. The souq has been here since the 7th century, and it feels like it.Narrow sandstone alleys, hand-carved pottery stacked on the ground, the smell of frankincense drifting through arched doorways. Local men in white dishdasha moving slowly through the shade. No one rushing. No one performing.We stayed at Al Dar, a small guesthouse built right inside the old town, mud walls, inner courtyard, and the fort’s towers visible from the window at sunrise. Falling asleep to the sound of the old city around you hits differently.Nizwa doesn’t ask for your attention.
