Meet James from @rocquettecider 👋

Tucked in the Fauxquets Valley in the heart of Guernsey’s countryside, Rocquette Cider is a beautiful orchard and production farm that crafts one of Guernsey’s most loved drinks.

You can visit them and take tours of the Orchard, before heading to the Cider Barn to sample some of the delicious drinks and snacks. Make sure to add it to your next Guernsey itinerary!

Rocquette is run by the Meller family who re-established the industry in 1998. They make cider, apple juice, fruit liqueurs and chutneys that you’ll find served across local pubs and restaurants.

The team also run Apple Swaps - where islanders can bring their excess apples to become part of the cider production - which has become a classic island tradition 🍎

No man is an island. That’s why @chris_kammy is encouraging us all to speak up about our mental health, especially men.

Chris shares how he needed a trusted friend, @benshephardofficial, to help him through his mental health difficulties, and how you can find support if you’re in need.

Chris visited Guernsey to launch Here for C.H.R.I.S, an initiative that means you can go into establishments across Guernsey and ask for support. Just say you’re ‘here for Chris’ (Calm, Helpful, Reassuring, and Inviting Space), and a team member will be there to listen, with resources from @guernseymind.

Our hope is to make those important conversations around mental health, just that little bit easier to have.

Over a quarter of men across the UK are hesitant to discuss their mental health with family or friends, fearing that their loved ones won’t be able to support them. Three in ten agree that having a space away from their usual environment would make asking for support easier.

That’s why we have worked with @guernseymind and @chris_kammy, former footballer, broadcaster and mental health advocate, to create a new initiative, Here for C.H.R.I.S, to encourage men who are struggling to open up in safe spaces.

Around our Island, over 40 establishments have taken part in basic mental health training to support people in need. All you need to do is say you're here for C.H.R.I.S and a trained individual will be there to chat in a safe place.

Whether it’s having a coffee or just knowing someone’s listening, our hope is to make conversations around mental health easier to have - because no man is an island.
