We’re proud to unveil our Culture 26; Made in Halton film, starring Waterloo Road actress and Halton local Alicia Forde, filmed across the borough – it’s a celebration of all things cultural!

Because culture doesn’t have borders, it has bridges. It’s home grown, shaped by our voices, our stories, our makers and creators. It’s our art, our music, our literature, our accent - the old towns and the new. Where science meets imagination and where local ideas reach the world!

Culture isn’t just in Halton, it is Made in Halton and we’re all part of it.

👇 Tell us below what Culture in Halton is to you

The 2026 Autumn tour of:
Ghastly Stories
For
Gruesome Gremlins

Is proud to start at the mighty @thebrindleytheatre Studio in partnership with @cultivatehalton !

A Silly & Spooky Storytelling Show for Families
7+ Suggested

Told by Gav Cross

Start your spooky season with a squeal!

Gav does not believe in ghosts, has never seen a ghost, doesn’t think there are monsters under his bed. But he cannot get enough of the stories that give him the chills…

Stories have been stuffed full spooky creatures and supernatural beasts for as long as they have been shared.

Expect things that glide, bite and chill you to your rattling bones. Old stories and a true story. There will be jumps and bumps along the way. Just know that when the whispering starts is when you might need to hold someones’ hand.

Put on your brave face and start practicing pretending not to be scared…

Do not worry too much. You will probably be alright…

Audience Feedback:

“It was ghastly! Great to watch the vey real reactions of the little kids (& the grown ups!)
Thank you far a lovely story filled show!”

“Fantastic show brilliantly pitched for kids.
We loved it too”

“I think it’s for 4+ in age. I don’t think it’s that creepy. Make it even creepier, put more blood. Put more murder in it. Make it more gory.” *

Gav Cross, Storymaster of the Bradford Literature Festival, brings a family Friendly** hour of nonsense and nastiness! Expects gasps and giggles and maybe even a chill down the back of the neck?

“Gav’s ability to beguile a room, be it full of a thousand secondary students, or 20 toddlers and their parents, is unparalleled.”
Bradford Literature Festival

“It’s quite astounding how entertaining, funny and enthralling Gav Cross is, no matter your age.”
Pound Arts

“Gav Cross is a brilliant performer with a rare ability to engage children and adults alike in his anarchic fun. Audiences are in for a real treat.”
Highlights Rural Touring Scheme

*Suggestion from a 7 year old audience member we haven’t ‘yet’ implemented…
**Brave families that like it silly…
