Yesterday was a momentous day for India’s AI landscape and @sarvam.ai_official launch made me genuinely excited.

For the first time, it feels like India is moving from being an adopter of AI to becoming a builder of AI. (#Sarvam Epoch).

Coincidentally the developments in the Bay Area, had a similarity to a moment of pride for our @ayushpayofficial team as well.

Yesterday we launched our own Indian Language speech model, called #DHWANI.
It's our homegrown, bootstrapped SpeechToText Model, which has a WORD ERROR RATIO of 6.2%, which is 1.2 points behind the leader in space.

The difference is that we built it at a cost of just 2000 USD. It beats the many superstars in the space who have truckloads of capital behind them.

To give you some context, the leader in this space alone has raised $275 Million..

Our problem was complex,

1. Our customers speak broken English or Hindi or both and with a flavour of local accent.

2.They call from phones which don't have the best of microphones and device quality is mostly lacking.

3.The background noise of crowded streets, clinics, hospitals, etc. made it even tougher to read the dialect.

So instead of waiting for someone else to solve it, we built our own and called it Dhwani.

The project was helmed by @nimith (co founder) and @alok saraswat (totally human led)

This is a small step in our journey towards making healthcare accessible and affordable through AI. taken in Gurgram, Haryana, Delhi NCR by @vivekk0609

This city wears a face of sorrow and solace. It's a place where the departed find salvation and peace. Perhaps it can also rescue those who lose their way while still living. taken in Har Ki Pauri Haridwar-हर की पौड़ी हरिद्वार by @vivekk0609

Voice of @cap.ravi

I wrote these words while on a road trip to Leh , watching the mountains go by.

What do i see in these mountains!!

I see them sad, i see them in solitary confinement.. these lonely cones of stones, stare eagerly at every car that slices their body in an attempt to conquer them and cross over to the next mountain.

Are they expecting us to stop by, pat them, touch them with sympathy and relieve them of the curse of having to stand tall centuries over centuries sometimes, marking a valley, sometimes a border, sometimes a shelter to a village etc etc.

In my words ,, their thoughts!!
