![❓ How did you usually start your weekend mornings as a child❓ [русск. в коммент.]
Probably, you slept in, had a nap, etc. My weekend mornings were different. I woke up to my parents loudly discussing 🗣️ politics or current events in the kitchen. I got so used to it that when there were no discussions, I woke up feeling something was missing.
I think these conversations have become the main reason I actively monitor the news 🗞️ and take an interest in the political situation worldwide.
I was raised to believe that staying informed 🧐 makes you less susceptible to manipulation. With knowledge, you can have at least some influence on what happens around you. Ordinary people have influenced many historical events (take revolutions as an example). ☝️
Today, in the post-truth era, the authorities (and not only them) have learned to distort information and manipulate people's minds, but that doesn't mean there aren't ways to counter it. Knowledge is power. 💪
I believe that honest people who hold basic moral values and don't prioritize profit over anything else exist on this planet. With good intentions and a desire to find the truth (facts, not interpretations), we can help each other. 🫂
I want to make a difference through journalism because this is the path I see myself in. Seeking information, asking questions, talking to people, and learning are what I value most.
