The 2026 Trail Fund is LIVE. 🚵

This is our annual push for the thing we all want more of: better trails, new trails, and the tools to keep them dialed — all across Vermont.

The goal: $75,000 for the Chapter Trail Grant Program, where grants are decided by Chapters, for Chapters. Last year you helped us hit that same mark, pushing the program past $601K invested in Vermont trails since 2013.

Over the next 8 weeks we're taking you to the 13 projects your 2025 donations built. You'll see exactly where every dollar lands: in the dirt.

🗣️ PUBLIC MEETING: The Future of Waterworks Access 🗣️

Wednesday, October 21st at 6:30 PM
Waterbury Fire House, 43 South Main Street

The Edward Farrar Utility District (EFUD) is holding a third public meeting to discuss the protection and management of the Waterworks property in Waterbury and Stowe, including recreational use and access.

Conservation interests, stewardship organizations (including VMBA), and the public will all have an opportunity to comment on how the land will be managed and used going forward.

If you care about trail access, recreational opportunities, and the future of the Waterworks property, now is your chance to weight in.

Mark your calendar and be prepared to advocate for the trails and outdoor access you value.

Our perspective is that these trails have provided a valuable community asset for decades, and that many - but not all - of the existing trails in the Waterworks parcel provide sustainable recreation opportunities without impacting the water supply. Our hope is for a solution that allows for continued access in appropriate areas while ensuring EFUD can fulfill its obligation to provide safe, clean, and affordable drinking water - one that WATA is willing to help achieve.
