Vola Foods is a vibrant Cameroonian restaurant located in Brunswick, Melbourne, offering an authentic taste of West African cuisine. Established in June 2021 by chef and owner Ashley Vola, the eatery operates from a distinctive orange shipping container, creating a unique and inviting atmosphere. The menu features traditional dishes such as jollof rice, suya barbecued meats, and puff puff (fried dough balls), all prepared with native Cameroonian spices. Vola Foods has become a culinary destination, attracting patrons from across Melbourne seeking genuine African flavors.

Born in Cameroon, Ashley Vola moved to Australia in 2005. Initially uncertain about introducing African cuisine to the Australian palate, her perspective shifted after participating in the 2020 reality show “Plate of Origin” alongside her sister, Kelly. This experience inspired her to showcase Cameroonian food in Melbourne. Through Vola Foods, Ashley aims to offer Australians an immersive African dining experience while providing the Cameroonian community with a comforting taste of home. by @volafoods

YUM! @volafoods is popping up every Sunday for the rest of October from 3pm, and trust us, you’re gonna want to come hungry.

Bringing proper Cameroonian street food straight to the bar. Think smoky BBQ suya meats hot off the grill, rich jollof, golden plantains and a whole heap more.

Live jazz will be rolling from 3pm too, so grab your crew, come hungry and get ready to get your hands messy.

🍴 Come hungry! @volafoods and @aussie_twista will be serving delicious food and crispy Twista potatoes. Explore the market stalls and enjoy a full day of music, food and good vibes!
