"Extrasensory perception"

As the story goes,
"...one of his experiments involved the cards, which came 25 to a pack. Inside were five cards each of five different designs--a circle, cross, wave, square and star--chosen because each had one more line than the other. ... although Rhine did much of the research, he had Zener design the cards since Zener was a perceptual psychologist..."

as the story goes, "...the Conferences were conceived as invitation-only symposia bringing together a limited number of recognized specialists to debate a specific theme... in order to contribute to solving unusually difficult scientific problems. The first Conference in 1911 was chaired by H. Lorentz who also served as a sophisticated and polyglot moderator during the Conference's often heated debates..."

“Leap” 2018, 190cm x 247cm, oil on canvas
This came out to be a self-referenced work, made two summers ago, when I was transcending to my new work and, it is the one that showed me the way to go forward. Therefore, it is of great importance for me and I believe it is so, for my painting work entirely.
Happy to share this on the beginning of a new year so it may foresee the various leaps to be made ahead.

"Prima materia" 2017, hd video installation. Here is a tiny clip and some stills, (plus an "iron fields" raw draft design)
Prima materia, was commissioned by @pcai_polyeco in 2016. It is a gloomy representation of a eco disastrous - human vs earth, world. Real-footage were molded in to an animation, so to create a dark yet enchanting moving image.
The work, was exhibited in 2017, at the @thebenakimuseum as part of the truly exeptional exhibition #paratoxicparadoxes curated by @nadjaarg / Nadja Argiropoulou.
Further more, I am excited to make "Iron fields" by the end of the year, yet another commission by pcai, so that the two works will consist a dyptich piece from then on and, I am working with Kika kyriakakou, the collection & exhibition manager of pcai, so that we can exhibit the dyptich in the coming year...

"Troades" 2013, 4,42min loop, hd video (mute) instalation. here is small clip & stills.
Troades was inspired by " Τρωάδες- the trojan women", a Euripide's tragedy, prodused & preformed in 415 BC. This video work, signifies a big change in my mooving image works. There is no cinematic structure & narration ever since, but rather a sharp frame were all movement and narration occurs. I think of them as moving "paintings" or photographs if you may.
I could not have had troades done so well, without the help of my friend @vassokavalieratou , that greatly coached all the ladies, that I had chosen them by their psychique, 6 out of 7 of them had never performed or act before! Costume design was created in a uniform suit consept by @elisavetkapogianni ❤. "Reverie", 2009, 12min loop, hd video installation. Did this video, for the second Athens bienalle "Heaven" 2009, (produced by athens bienalle), along with my dear friend Yiannis & amazing actress and friend Vasso Kavalieratou. the kick ass music is made by my friend Dallai, while costume desing is made by Elisavet kapogianni. Here is a small clip, some stills & snap shots. The video, reflects on human desire. It consist of 3 parts, lust for power, death and sexual desire. All the drama is based on a psychological approach on the essence of desire, as a shadow self - unconscious and dominant aspect of the ego and, it is narrated as ones daydream, a reverie… The deep influence by German expressionism in cinema, is more than apparent.

“Fire watch on the king’s chapel” 2019, triptych, 150 x 375cm, oil on canvas
As the story goes, “…throughout the 1930s, Hayek and Keynes, corresponded with each other, argued bitterly and found very little common ground. During the WW2, they even met under bizarre circumstances. Because of the bombing campaign against London, the LSC has been evacuated to Kenbridge. One night Keynes and Hayek, have been assigned to “fire watch” duty together, on the roof of the chapel of Kings College. Sadly we do not know what they talked about that night…”
