POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Saw Bonnie Raitt last night in the most ethereal and technically astonishing voice, singing songs she doesn’t often perform for a hometown crowd. She and her masterful band were radiant and it prompted me to find this pic I was sent some time ago ( nearly 40 years!!!!) of @superbon54 Bonnie Hayes and yours truly backstage at a benefit at the @greatamericanmusichall. We’re just getting better y’all! by @vrandle

I’m posting this to remember a time when the @officialtkc Kennedy Center meant something reverent and beautiful, before that nihilistic force of destruction erases what it stood for. taken in KennedyCenter by @vrandle

Tomorrow in Novato!
Saturday in Santa Cruz!

Meet Vicki Randle!

Vicki Randle singer, guitarist, bassist, percussionist and composer was in the Tonight Show with Jay Leno band from 1992-2010. She has toured and/or recorded with George Benson, Lionel Richie, Herbie Hancock, Kenny Loggins, Aretha Franklin, Mavis Staples and the MC5. Most recently she has split her time between Greg Loiacono’s “Stingray” and her rock band “Skip The Needle.”

Vicki on Sly Stone:

“If Sly Stone didn’t break the invisible wall between rock, soul and funk music, so many groups would never have existed, including my own musical trajectory. We might never have had Parliament Funkadelic, Rufus, the Meters, Prince.” by @vrandle
