Thank you for being with us last night. For traveling across Vermont to be there. For making room in busy schedules. For sharing stories about the women who shaped your lives. For listening, celebrating, and investing in the work of the Vermont Women’s Fund.

We’re still taking in the generosity of the evening, and reading the stories you left with us. They’re a beautiful reminder that change can begin with one person, because of her: a woman who opens a door, believes in us, or simply shows up. And when we choose to do the same for others, her impact multiplies, rippling outward through our communities.

We can’t wait to share more in the weeks ahead, along with our final fundraising total.

Thank you for being part of our community.

As women and girls in Vermont and around the world face growing challenges, stories of courage, resilience, and leadership matter more than ever.

This year, the Vermont Women's Fund is honored to welcome Shabana Basij-Rasikh, founder of the School of Leadership, Afghanistan (SOLA) and Middlebury College graduate to the stage for our Annual Celebration on September 17, 2026.

Raised in Kabul under Taliban rule, Shabana attended school in secret before going on to found Afghanistan's first girls' boarding school. When the Taliban returned to power in 2021, she evacuated the school community and rebuilt in Rwanda, ensuring Afghan girls could continue pursuing an education.
