99th Running of the Comrades Marathon 🖤

What an incredible privilege it was to be part of the 99th running of the Comrades Marathon, a race that continues to inspire, unite, and remind us of the extraordinary things human beings are capable of.

This year was one for the history books:
💛 Records were shattered - congratulations @gerda_steyn & @kuschegeorge
💛 Largest field ever take on the Ultimate Human Race, just under 22 000 runners
💛 Said goodbye to comrades as a double digit, as we look ahead to the iconic 100th running next year.

On a personal note, I am beyond honoured to have been the first MC on the finish line 🎤

@suezforge, well done! Thank you for trusting me & making the circle bigger for women 🫶🏽

To the commentary team @siphomona @johnwalland @mikefinchsa & Arnie thank you for standing alongside me 🫶🏽

To the Comrades Marathon Board & team , congratulations on delivering yet another world-class event. The oldest and greatest ultramarathon in the world continues to set the standard 🤞🏽

And to every single runner arrived at that start line: thank you. I don’t think people truly understand what it takes to be prepared to stand on that start line, and take on a challenge of this magnitude. Your courage, determination, and resilience are what make this race so special. You are the real heroes.
Congratulations to all the finishers 👏🏾 I salute you!

Once again, I leave feeling blessed, humbled, grateful, and inspired.

Bring on the 100th running 🖤

This week has been so heavy on my heart as a South African 🇿🇦

It’s been so difficult to express the pain and how overwhelming it’s been on my heart and every other women 💔

Just last month we were celebrating women but the reality of our lived experience of all women has me so speechless.

I honestly am so lost for words. What I can say is that - we just want to be safe & be free.

My heart is with every single South African woman ❤️ taken in Stellenbosch, Western Cape by @vuvuradebebio

POV: my salty bestie @get.revive came to hang out in my backyard 😉

Shout out to @get.revive for being at @stelliesshakeout this week 💦

This weeks run was in support of @no_body_runner’s shoe drive to support mental health 🫶🏽

Although I didn’t get a chance to hit the trails between Achilles tendinopathy flare ups, flu & travels, it was so good to see the trail running community 🤸🏾‍♀️ I’ll be back soon! 🤙🏽 taken in Stellenbosch, Western Cape by @vuvuradebebio
