The Executive Producer in me is so proud of this moment💜🎥

The Vuyo Show recently recieved an invite to serve as Media Partner for Shared Interest’s HBCU Social Impact Leaders Forum and Nasdaq Bell Ringing Program, Ceremony and Champagne Toast Reception at Nasdaq headquarters in Times Square. The event highlighted the power and potential of Black emerging business professionals in increasing diversity within the fields of social impact investing, corporate sustainability, and entrepreneurship in the US and Southern Africa.

During this event, Shared interest convened a cohort of 20+ HBCU students, as well as HBCU leaders, Nasdaq leaders, Henry Schein, Inc. leaders, and other community partners. Through the 30th Anniversary Voices of Change Campaign, there was also the commemoration of the June holidays of Juneteenth in the US and Youth Day in South Africa by amplifying the voices of those who are investing in and empowering the next generation of Black social impact leaders and entrepreneurs in the US and Southern Africa!

As the Executive Producer and Host of The Vuyo Show, this moment was a reminder that all the hard work I continue to do is being seen, recognized and acknowledged. Being invited to partner with a Global Organization and Global Pharmaceutical company at Nasdaq is what the young Vuyo the big big dreamer prayed for and God made it happen.

This is my second Times Square Billboard moment. Both times have been in direct correlation with my work in the media industry as a Media Personality and Executive Producer. This however was the first time I’d been to Nasdaq, which is a U.S. stock exchange based in New York City. I had always seen companies that I am inspired by ringing the bell at Nasdaq and I have always said that one day I’ll be in the studio to experience that moment and that moment was this past Friday.

More than anything I am so proud of @thevuyoshow and that it is being invited in important spaces as a valuable, credible Global media platform and show in New York City.

I believe print will matter more in 2027 and beyond.

As the media landscape continues to evolve, I believe we are beginning to rediscover what made print valuable in the first place.

We are entering a world where AI-generated content will become increasingly difficult to distinguish from work created by humans. As the volume of digital content grows, I believe the questions of authenticity, trust and human connection will become even more important.

We will want to know who made something. Why they made it. What they wanted to say. And whether there is a real human story behind it.

This is where print has a unique place.

A printed magazine is a physical object. Once an issue has been printed and distributed, that edition exists as a record of a particular moment in time. Its pages cannot be silently rewritten, its original form cannot simply be updated, and its existence is not dependent on an algorithm continuing to show it to us.

There is something powerful about that permanence.

Print asks us to slow down. To be intentional about what we publish, what we read and what we choose to preserve. It gives stories a physical life beyond the moment they appear on a screen.

I don’t believe digital media will disappear. But I do believe that, in an increasingly automated world, human-made media and tangible experiences will become more meaningful.

This is one of the reasons I am so proud of what we are building at @manhattan.avenue .

As CEO and Editor-in-Chief, my goal is simple: to publish a magazine that tells stories that matter to our contemporary moment, celebrates the people shaping our world, and creates a record that can be revisited for generations to come.

We are not printing simply because print once mattered.

We are printing because I believe what we choose to preserve will matter even more in the future. taken in New York City by @vuyodarling

As a media entrepreneur building @manhattan.avenue it always great to share more about about my story because often times I’m behind the scenes sharing other people’s stories. I was inspired by these ladies own stories and left with my cup abit more full.
