Anti-doping can raise a lot of questions. 💭 The good news? You don’t have to navigate them alone.

The Athletes’ Anti-Doping Ombuds is a free, neutral and confidential resource operating independently of WADA.

🌍 Our President @banka.witold, the Director of our Africa Office, Rodney Swigelaar, and the Director of WADA’s Intelligence and Investigations (I&I) department Günter Younger, visited Nairobi, Kenya to meet with anti-doping stakeholders to discuss how to build on recent progress made in strengthening the anti-doping program in Kenya and chart a path forwards.

Mr. Bańka and the WADA delegation met with:

- The President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Dr. William Kipchirchir Samoei Arap Ruto, to focus on Kenya’s commitment to clean sport and the government’s support of the Anti-Doping Agency of Kenya (ADAK);
- ADAK’s management team and board of directors to go over its governance and strategic plan, its compliance with the Code and to identify future priorities; and
- The Kenyan Directorate of Criminal Investigations; the National Police Service, the Kenya Revenue Authority, the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, and various intelligence agencies, to highlight the importance of intelligence sharing and law enforcement cooperation, among other I&I topics.

Mr. Bańka also held a roundtable discussion with Kenyan athletes from various sporting disciplines, led by Humphrey Kayange Emonyi, Kenyan Olympian (rugby sevens), member of WADA’s Athlete Council and Executive Committee, International Olympic Committee (IOC) member and IOC Athletes’ Commission Member, and hosted by the National Olympic Committee of Kenya (NOCK). 💫

We were in Nagoya, Japan, for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games! 🏓 🇯🇵

Throughout the Games, our Athlete Engagement and Independent Observer (IO) teams worked alongside athletes and anti-doping partners to support the protection of clean sport.

Our Athlete Engagement team connected directly with athletes and their support personnel to raise awareness about clean sport, while our IO team observed all aspects of the Games’ anti-doping program to help ensure its quality, effectiveness and reliability.

With more than 11,000 athletes from 45 National Olympic Committees competing across 43 sports, Aichi-Nagoya 2026 represents an important opportunity to champion our mission for doping-free sport, raise awareness about clean sport, and continue to ensure that athletes across Asia are competing on a level playing field.
