Rangatahi engagment in waka ama is integral to the growth and development of the sport. To ensure there are clear pathways for rangatahi to participate in the sport an important factor is building relationships between kura and clubs. If rangatahi access waka ama through their school sports programmes, a great way to continue their ongoing waka ama journey is to connect that rangatahi and their whānau to your local clubs. For more guidance on how to build positive relationships for club and school connections visit the Waka Ama Aotearoa NZ website. by @wakaamanz

The best way to do this is by creating the opportunity to engage in waka ama, support rangatahi in their development, and create clear pathways for participation from school to club.
