This week was SO. MUCH. FUN. For the Sole Sisters this week. On Wednesday we went to Rancho San Antonio, saw farm animals and climbed a figurative mountain! We shared our secret wishes. On Saturday we CLIMBED at Loch Lomond Reservoir. And we talked about honoring many versions of ourselves. Some hikers came to both days! Well done my friends! Ollie found in a desert hole left to die. Snickers was in Los Angeles shelter on death row. Ranger, my soul dog, was going to be drown with his litter mates. Dogs aren’t disposable. Ranger was the dog who showed me how healing and therapeutic it was to have steady, enthusiastic love through difficult times. These little castaways are mini miracle workers if you open your heart enough to let them in. Little Snickers could use a permanent home. And I’ll volunteer to dog sit! by @walkstrong_

We are helping our foster pup increase her trust in men and she’s doing great (she’s not the first soul to be wary of them!) …she just needs to meet some good ones like these! So proud of Snickerdoodle. She’s thriving after a rough start.

Don’t mind us, we’ll just be over here ugly crying the happiest of happy tears 😭😭😭 Snickerdoodle has finally found a foster home with one of our alums, Ollie (fka Basil), and his pawrents!! Swipe 👉🏼 for all the feels.

Thanks to Josh (@k9optima ) and one of our adopters, Darci (@walkstrong_ ), there is life and a light in Snickerdoodle’s eyes that we’ve never seen before 😭😭😭

Snickerdoodle is a different dog. You can see it. You can feel it. She’s not the same dog she was 2 months ago. There’s a quiet confidence and sense of belonging about her.

This is what support looks like. This is why we entrusted her with Josh. From a fearful, shut-down dog to a happy, social girl, Snickerdoodle just needed someone who knew how to listen to and understand her.

And, thanks to Darci, her husband, and Ollie, Snickerdoodle gets to start the next chapter in her story. She and Ollie get along like long-lost friends who were reunited. She’s met the resident kitty and was curious but polite.

We can’t wait to see her continue to blossom with their support. From the bottom of our heart, THANK YOU to Josh for everything you’ve done to help Snickerdoodle and help us understand how to better support her. And, a heartfelt thank you to her new foster family for stepping up and taking a chance at giving her the future she deserves.

We still owe Josh $3820! Please help us pay off our balance and say thank you for everything he’s done and does for dogs in need.

I recently returned from The Wild Edge of Faith Pilgrimage in Ireland. I haven’t posted, in part, because there is no way to capture the depth and beauty of this experience in a few photos. It will be a trip I will look to as a life highlight. Ireland is a place so stunning and the lush landscape felt so nurturing. We experienced beautiful words of reflection and poetry, hours of settling into ancient landscapes like cemeteries and forts to journal and reflect, rich community times sharing our hearts or laughs over a Guinness and crab claws. We pushed ourselves to the wild edge of our faith in the most unhurried way because, ya know, “rushing is violence.” I’ll be processing this trip for a long time. I’m thankful for @wildedgefaith @ferris.don who led us with eloquence and confidence. I loved your challenging yet nurturing, always eloquent guidance throughout the pilgrimage. by @walkstrong_

Ok Saturday Peeps. Here we Go. Time to sign up for the next hike session. We’ve got the old traditions and a few new. Some one came up with the idea of a progressive dinner hike. We loved it and so it’s on! Vision Boards are back and our grand finale Marin Dipsea hike is one of my all time favorites. This is more than a hiking group it’s a community of women committed to growing together. Old, New and returning Women let’s GO!
