our new album ‘walt disco’ is out 2 october 2026 and is now available for pre-order via our new home of @eminorthrecords. our new single ‘Lies’ is out now.

this is an album about us. it’s an album about the cost of being young, of having dreams in music and in life, of trying and failing and feeling time get away from you. it’s also an album about being brave against it all, and finding the belief in yourself to try again.

there was a point not too long ago where we wanted to scrap this band and start again under a new name. the temptation to wipe the slate clean, to feel new and young again, was playing on our minds.
but ultimately we decided that’s not the story we wanted to tell, not the example we wanted to set. we’d much rather show that you don’t have to tear everything down to build something new.

now we stand behind our name more than ever, and we stand behind the strength of these songs we’ve written together. it’s the best work we’ve done, the place we’ve been working towards since the start. this belief in our songs was bolstered and guided by powerhouse producer @msn_ellie. we feel new, we feel young, we feel proud to show you ‘walt disco’.

the cover features the bike tyre vest worn by jocelyn in the Coup de foudre video, a recycled piece forming something new and beautiful feels like it perfectly encapsulates us and what this album represents. crafted by @thread.archives.

a phrase i wrote in my notes over 3 years ago is now plastered all around the city i live in and beyond. very cool.

it’s all feeling strangely real now that the album is out. it feels like most of our time as a band has been spent doing the secret stuff: writing the songs, finding the direction, imagining the world and plotting with our team about how to show our hand.

speaking face to face with people who enjoy our music at the in-stores over the last week has been pretty wild, it’s not ours anymore, it’s time for it to take on a life of its own.

we have felt closer to this album than anything we’ve ever made before. i know that for jocelyn and I it contains lyrics we’ve been wanting to write our whole lives, we just had to live long enough to know how to say them.

for the majority of bands, including us, there’s never any guarantee that anyone will care, there’s never any guarantee that the powers that be will see in you what you see in yourself. all you have at the end of the day is yourselves, you wake up and do god’s work every single day for years on end because there is no god to do it for you. i think that’s what i was feeling when i wrote this phrase.

the love you show is all the sign we need to keep doing it, thank you x

Jack

look at the absolutely goated team behind our album😭 pic taken on the last day of recording at Salvation Studios.

but there’s many more faces and places behind this record.

we began with 4 days in Haggerston’s @baltic_studios_, where we began work with our producer, @msn_ellie, and recorded Warmface and some bits for another track you’ll get to hear one day.
These sessions were engineered by @tonyburrata and assistant engineered by @rorywytchard98.
after these test run sessions we had no doubt that Ellie was the right person to make this record with.

then came a pre-production retreat in Wetherby at a wonderful place called @thecalmfarmstudio, hosted by nicest man of all time Wilko. This is where Ellie really helped us crack the code for so many songs. mainly Lies, Never New, and New Friends.

soon followed a month long stretch in @salvationmusicstudiosbtn in Portslade, near Brighton, to record the album proper. it was truly the best of times, the most fluid and fun recording has ever felt. this is hugely down to the talent and company of Ellie, engineer, @jake.staineraudio, and assistant engineer @jackson.________

Coup de foudre was recorded later over two days at London’s famous @rakstudios. We also did a lot of sprucing up of what we did at Salvation. These sessions were engineered by @gili.portal and @katiexforeman.

then we linked up with mixer @leesmithmixer who brought so much passion to the project and did truly transformative work on the record.

the finishing touch was brought by mastering engineer @robin.schmidt.mastering, who’s worked on so many records we love.

this was a massive labour of love from so many incredible people, and now it’s all yours!

if you’ve ordered a record from our store before 23:59pm tomorrow night, you’ll be in with a chance to win 2 tickets to a show of your choice on our 2027 headline tour

also, for a limited time there’s a price drop on digital downloads of the album, down to £5.99 by @waltdisco

in july we gathered a huge squad of immensely talented scottish musicians and friends to scream My Body Knows When To Run with us, the opening track of our new album.

we were humbled and blown away by the number of artists who gave their time to come and be a part of this performance. these are the people who’s gigs we go to week after week, the people who make Scotland such a thriving creative melting pot, the people who inspire us to never stop singing the praises of Glasgow and Scotland as a whole.

filming this was one of the most fun and rewarding things we’ve done as a band, bringing the scene together and seeing everyone sing as one and absolutely KILL IT made us immensely proud of what we’ve got up here.

everyone who took part is listed below, please go and listen to their music and go to their gigs. you’ll thank yourself. we’ve also made a playlist with everyone’s tunes which you can find on our spotify.

scotland on top forever, we’re up next🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

our self-titled album ‘walt disco’ is out now everywhere on @eminorthrecords

at this point it feels like we’ve almost said everything about this album that we can, now it’s time for you to make up your own minds. it no longer belongs to us, it belongs to everyone who hears it and we are so excited and relieved to pass it over.

we feel it’s our best. we wrote these songs at a time where we felt nobody was asking us to or was waiting for us to. but we loved them so much that we knew we had to make it happen.

this album wrestles with a lot of uncertainty, the kind that almost made us decide to abandon our name altogether. but it also shows us picking each other up and coming out the other side. this album could only have been made by walt disco.

thank you to EMI North for taking a punt on us, and never expecting us to be anything but ourselves. thank you to our manager, Hamish @bounsemgmt, for fighting for us every single day.
thank you to our producer @msn_ellie for realising this album with us by lending her impeccable taste and guidance. thank you to our engineers @jake.staineraudio and @jackson.________ of Salvation Studios for their expertise and friendship.
thank you to @born_slippery, our creative director, for helping us show it to the world.
there are many others that contributed to this record, you can now pick up a copy and open it up to read all about them.

we can’t wait to embark on the journey of having this album out in the world, the best times are yet to come.

from us to you with love,

Jocelyn, Jack, Finlay, Lewis and Charlie:
