Really gross and kinda freaky tbh! This is what NYC tap water did to my white @aquacera WALTER filter .

And this is what the filter is reducing from my water:

Chloramine >99%
Chlorine >99%
Lead >95%
THMs >98%
Heavy metals >98%
Chromium >95%
PFOA + PFOS >99%
PFAS >95%
Fluoride >99%

We put a lot of trust in the water coming out of the tap.

Municipal water is treated to make it safe to drink, but treatment doesn’t necessarily remove every unwanted contaminants—and water still has to travel through miles of pipes before it reaches your glass. Well water has its own variables, from minerals and metals to agricultural and environmental contaminants.

Filtering at the point you actually drink it is one more layer between the source and you.

There is so much joy to be found in the ordinary day to day moments at home. Listen throughout the day, are the things we do chores? Or are they part of the symphony and rhythm of a beautiful life? Brewing coffee, making beds, setting the table. We are so blessed to be able to do these things each day. I have grown to love the rituals that add to the joy and rhythm of our everyday life at home.

We recently added two gorgeous water filters from @walterfilter and I can’t describe how fresh and pure the water tastes! In addition to the taste, I truly love the sound of the water coming from the beautiful tap spilling into a clean glass!!! I’m seriously drinking so much more water because it’s just so fun to pour, listen to and enjoy!!! That may sound silly but I truly revel in this simple pleasure!! I think we finally decided to keep the blue Walter in the kitchen and the orange one in our newly finished basement.

Full disclosure as always…. The water filters were gifts that I gladly accepted as we often feel we can taste high levels of chlorine in our water. A recent test found trace lead in a City Hall drinking fountain—not from the city’s reservoirs, but likely from the aging pipes and fixtures water encounters on its way to the glass.
