Very stoked to shoot this little film for @rmwilliams about bronc riders for their new Cloudbuster range. Shot this two days after wrapping our feature doco on the Mount Isa Rodeo so was feeling peak cowboy.

Special thanks to Tommo from HV Power for bringing out a massive cherry picker for our high angle shot – that would be a very expensive exercise in the city involving many permits! Not in the Isa…

Thanks to Luke White for kindly letting us shoot at his property and imparting some old school bush knowledge in the voiceover.

Thanks to bronc riders Cade Fergusson, Hayley Coburn @hailzrose_7777, Luke Hanson and Hamish McClean. You guys are all nuts getting on broncs but have mad respect for how gutsy you are. Also cheers to Byron Remfrey @remfrey_89 and family for supplying the horses – beautiful to see how much he cares about these animals.

My debut doco feature RODEO DREAMS is premiering @sydfilmfest next Wednesday at Event Cinemas George St at 6:30pm – please come along if you’re in Sydney. What started as a series of music videos for @theteskeybrothers then became a longer story about four bullriders competing in Australia’s largest rodeo @mountisarodeo . Had some seriously good times making this one over the past few years alongside talented co director @rhianskirving who taught me so much about docos and epic team @theblairlitchproject @charaanna @bigbatz @charlottewheaton @al_serafini @andygough_ @alexcutter @edel.rafferty.129 @adam_armstrong @phongfocus @anthonytrantoo @goodthingproductions @_shanna_n @ktboylana @fletcher.glover . Huge thanks to bull riding legend @lanceanderson56 who was in the Teskey Brothers videos and opened a lot of doors for us to make the doco. And thanks to the countless people who gave up their time to help us in Mount Isa and be part of the doco @donovan_8899 @darcy_harrison00 @c.anderson_16 Peter Gregory @jakecurr @bryn_francis7 @kelseypav08 @jackson01gray @samwoodall63 @cade_fergo @josh_alexander02 @officialtobyhale and everyone else who helped us along the way. taken in Sydney Film Festival by @wambleakley

Very special to direct a music video and a series of short docos for @lifebloodau

Below is my favourite piece from the campaign, a short doco on our piano player Max. What a bloody legend. Hearing his story made me realise how lucky we are to live in Australia where we have organisations like Lifeblood.

Thanks to all involved in making this one @maxwellwalter @toobingmctoobs @_lachlannnn @phongfocus @matty_dobson @adam_armstrong @spill_spills @d_wheeler_ @guushoevenaars @jackson_t_dickie @gc_nighthawk @hansford.rob @llewg @the_editors65 @shannon.michaelas @daniborg @zozo_rixon by @wambleakley

New clip for @vancejoy for the track ‘Fascination In The Dark’. This clip is the second instalment in the series… Actually the prequel 🙃.

So bloody fun making these. Thanks to Vance Joy’s team for trusting us – we had complete freedom while shooting these. Meant we could add scenes on the day and tweak things as we needed. Makes the whole process feel very alive.

Feel very lucky to be able to go on an adventure with a few friends play with v8s and choppers and call it our job. Highlight of making these was meeting locals in Mount Isa and Cloncurry – bunch of legends and funny bastards! Everyone made us feel so welcome.
