If you’ve been following WANDRLAND for a while, you’ve probably seen my videos, voiceovers & questionable amount of enthusiasm for a good road side stop… but maybe not much of me

So, hi 👋 I’m Kristen → the person behind WANDRLAND (the one who keeps adding “just one more stop” to the itinerary & somehow turned that habit into an app)

Every place on WANDRLAND is there because I researched it, experienced it, photographed it, or decided it was too good not to share & somehow that little list has grown to 1,000+ places around Southern Ontario 🙃

Fun fact: every photo in this carousel was taken in one of my favourite areas → Caledon & Halton. There’s a ridiculous amount of good wandering packed into that part of the province 🍁

Anyway, now you know who’s behind the camera, behind the map & is probably taking the scenic route right now 🌲

There’s something to be said for finding a place that makes the accommodation just as memorable as the destination ✨️

Less than a year since opening its doors, The Castle Keep is a lovely addition to the Blue Mountain area. With only 3 guest rooms, it takes a more intimate approach to the traditional boutique stay, where privacy, thoughtful design & a little indulgence are all part of the experience.

This room is The Pines. Warm, inviting & complete with a private sauna and steam room right in the bathroom (a feature you'll find in each of the rooms 🧖🏼‍♀️)

& with Blue Mountain Village 5 minutes away, plus the winding roads of Beaver Valley, charming small towns, waterfalls & scenic trails all within reach, it's a wonderful little place to return to after a day spent exploring this corner of Ontario 🍂

Although, with a room like this, you may find yourself in considerably less of a hurry to head out in the morning ☕️

A general store with a little surprise hiding out back?! 📚👀

The Nottawa General Store was already a cute little road trip stop, but discovering this tiny bookshop tucked behind it made the visit that much better

It's little surprises like this that make wandering Ontario so much fun. You never know what you'll stumble across when you take the time to look around 🍂

Winding roads, waterfalls, sweeping valley views & a suspension bridge that puts you right in the middle of it all. This little corner of Ontario really knows how to show off in October 🌅

If you’re the kind of person who will happily take a little detour just to see what’s in the area… you need to know about this weekend stop 👀

@oldimperialmarket in Aylmer is exactly the kind of little Ontario find I love stumbling across. It’s not a massive market & that’s the charm - a few local vendors, delicious food & lots of little treasures to browse through

These are honestly my favourite places to find when I’m out exploring Ontario - the random little places you stumble across & end up thinking, "I’m so glad we stopped here" 😍

From grabbing a bite to eat & exploring the farm to visiting the petting zoo, there’s plenty to keep you busy. & before you leave, make sure to stop by the market for baked goods, apple crumble and delicious ciders!

A September day on the backroads of Elgin County 🌾

If you’re looking for an easy Southern Ontario day trip with a little bit of everything - local food, farm markets, flowers, pretty places to wander, ice cream & a few unexpected stops - save this one.

Here’s the route:

🧀 Mistyglen Creamery - less than 10 minutes off the 401, with local cheese, fresh cheese curds & a cute outdoor patio.

🎃 Howe’s Farm Market - pick up some pumpkins, fresh corn & anything from the bakery.

🌸 Family Flowers - one of the cutest little greenhouses in the area. & don’t forget to check out the back!

🐸 Pinecroft - take your time exploring the grounds, find the lucky frog, wander through the pottery shop & if you want to eat here, a reservation is required for the Tea Room or restaurant (call ahead of time!)

🌮 Greta’s Taco Wagon - because every good road trip needs a taco stop.

🌶️ Mennomex - grab some hot sauce for the pantry.

🍦 Walker Dairy Bar - one last sweet stop before heading home.

🍯 Clovermead - finish the day with some local honey on your way back toward the 401.

This is your sign to take the long way through Elgin County.

If you’re heading to Almonte or Perth this fall, you've gotta add this stay to your adventure. 🌲

Stillwater Den by @closscrossing is a private Nordic-inspired getaway tucked away in Lanark County - & honestly, the kind of place where the stay itself becomes part of the escape.

Think forest surroundings, a cedar hot tub, sauna, cold plunge, outdoor shower, walking trails, fire pit & a beautifully designed space to come back to after exploring the area.

We spent the evening doing exactly what you’re supposed to do here: soaking in the hot tub, slowing down & catching up with each other. ♨️

It’s close enough to explore the small towns, shops, restaurants & trails around Almonte & Perth, but secluded enough that once you’re back at Stillwater Den, you can completely switch off.

Looking for something fun to do with the family this fall? 🍂

Just 30 minutes outside of London, Clovermead Adventure Farm in Aylmer is packed with things to do - so you can easily make a whole day out of it.

🎢 Potato sack slides
🌽 Corn mazes
💦 Water park
🛝 Playgrounds
🧗‍♀️ Zipline
🐑 Petting zoo
🍎 Food & treats
…& plenty more farm activities to keep everyone entertained.

It’s one of those places where the kids can run around, try something new & burn off some energy (you get to enjoy the day too).

And yes… there are goats. 🐐
