A selection of photos of my poster installation ‘Oh Look Everyone, We’re All Making Observations!’, presented at @alley_space last November.

Oh Look Everyone, We’re All Making Observations! scrambles the private with the public by taking familiar language out of its usual formats. Statements, quotes, headlines, puns, and proverbs (however different they seem) start to communicate with each other when placed in a space where their everyday hierarchy is removed. Whether from private conversations, literature, or broadcast news, writing them down and reading them back reveals connections — however messy, overblown, painful, or peculiar they may be.

‘In Light of Recent Events’ is a scrapbook of news images and headlines that I create, rework, distort, contrast, mask, cut out, trace, throw out and dig up again. A proces that took 2,5 years, in which I defined theme’s such as CONTROL, POWER and INDIGNATION, and visually iterated how these themes are present in current-day news reporting. taken in L’Orfèvrerie by @wardgoes

As part of my show last November, I presented a wall full of posters trying to capture what it sometimes feels like to look at the world. Global, personal, political, mundane, important, absurd, trivial. All demanding attention at once.

As Dwight puts it: “Oh look everyone, we’re all making observations!”

💡 Sabine Marcelis – Light and Color 🎨

Light becomes a material. Color becomes space.

In the first museum exhibition dedicated to the Dutch-New Zealand designer, the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich presents key works from across her career since the founding of her studio in 2011. Through light, color and materiality, designer Sabine Marcelis (@sabine_marcelis) creates immersive environments that transform the way we perceive our surroundings. Luminous objects, atmospheric installations and immersive spaces invite visitors into Marcelis's unique world.

Really happy to share that Literally Anything has been shortlisted in the Culture category of the INTL Creative Awards 2026.

In the summer of 2025, I started thinking about a new series of works that became Literally Anything: a self organised exhibition exploring graphic design as authorship, and asking how language helps us make sense of ourselves and the world around us, while questioning the role graphic designers play in shaping individual and collective understanding.

I spent three months making prints, collages, aluminium objects and installations, bringing the work together into an exhibition in November. The process became a way to reconsider my relationship with graphic design, both as a profession and as a way of making sense of the world around me.

To now see the project shortlisted feels like a real honour, and a bit of a full circle moment.

I’m very grateful to be included alongside so many great projects and designers. Many thanks to @intl.international and @internationalcreativeawards , and to the Culture jury @ruo_han_wang @veravandeseyp @ramandjafari

My diptych ‘Friendly Reminder’ was part of the poster installation ‘Oh Look Everyone, We’re All Making Observations’ I presented last november. Two prints based on a quote from my therapist (Paris, 14th district, January 8th, 2024, 17:00 GMT+1):

“There is no such thing as closure. There’s only time and coping.”

Throwback to this time six years (!) ago, when I was working on one of my first book projects ever: the 2020 Graduation Catalogue for @designacademyeindhoven

It was a challenging process. taking on a project of this scale and complexity for the first time (around 500 pages, with works from nearly 150 graduates). Working with the Academy in Eindhoven (NL) while at the time I was living in Paris which was then going through a 3-month lockdown during the COVID pandemic.

Now, of course, I would have approached some things differently. However, I’m still happy how the cover(s) turned out. The catalogue had three different variations in color, each featuring a different future news headline generated from the students’ project texts using a text analysis script.

Cutting, bending and assembling; aluminium behaves very differently than I expected. Trying to get the typography and patterns from my vector drawing out of the computer showed me once again that material isn’t something you simply use, but something you work with. The process also reminded me how naturally graphic design moves into space, turning surface into volume and compositions into physical objects.

The process was challenging with quite a bit of problem-solving along the way. It is all thanks to the expertise and hard work of @looy_driesser that this series of aluminium objects was finished the way it was.

Literally Anything literally is a sign of the times, marking a moment when anything is possible. A chance to reimagine, reassess, make, create, do nothing, not care at all, take time, take space, be helpful, be accepting, be sad, have fun, have ambitions, or simply do whatever you feel like.
