$The Warm Bodies coven was out in full force last week bestowing hexes upon the heads of all those who deserve them (too many). Our October lineup brought us poetry, tarot, story and standup covering topics including but not limited to rage, fantasy, fracking, mothers, Matty Healy, The Cure, cats, dogs and turning 30. Your favorite witchy women are back! And, no, we are not talking about Practical Magic 2 (although maybe we are also sort of talking about that?).

Warm Bodies returns Oct 1 with a night of vaguely Halloween-themed readings (remember: a poem about global warming can be sPoOkYyY👻 an essay about your family can be sCaRrRyYy ⛓️) + some free tarot readings for some lucky souls.

See you in the haunted houses of OUR MINDS**💀Evil witch laughter commences💀

Last week, we said no weapon formed against us (poor air quality, a heatwave, diarrhea lettuce) shall prosper and managed to live to see 2 years of Warm Bodies!

The vibes were immaculate due to a winning combo of talented readers, a supremely physically/spiritually attractive crowd and cake. If you were there (or at any of our previous events), THANK YOU WE LOVE YOU.

Our July performers gave us poetry, fiction and sketch comedy covering topics including but not limited to: AI, overweight cats, Annie Wilkes, toxic MFA programs, Jimmy Carter’s UFO sighting, canoes, the virtues of paper straws and cheerleaders with yeast infections.

🌝 Earlier this month, we got together to dance naked under the full moon* (*read poems and essays) at our October Warm Bodies.

🐔 There were tarot readings and, most notably, a lost chicken (final slide) who has since found a home in the country and will be living the good life thanks to our reader Sophia.

🧛🏻‍♀️ We had a spooky lineup of readers who covered topics including but not limited to: murder, getting the ick, ectoplasm, covens, women’s colleges, covens at women’s colleges, Dracula, hexes, and hell.

They say that September is Halloween Eve, and if that’s true (it is) then it’s not too early to tell you that
1. Our next Warm Bodies will be on Thurs, Oct 9
2. It will. be. spooky.

Expect reader topics to include: 🎃 👻 🔮🌙💀🍁

+ Tarot readings for some lucky attendees!

Remember: anything is spooky if you live in the US right now 🙃

See you under the full moon for midnight margaritas, witches! by @warmbodiesbk

Shout out to everyone who came out to our July Warm Bodies! This past week marked 1 full year of keeping it warm in every sense of the word 😅 and we couldn’t do it without all our friends!

Our readers covered a ton of ground, including but not limited to: complicated relationships with dads (both good and bad), tuna casseroles, nihilism, teeth, Sex & the City, Cher, Instagram-famous viola players, and, of course, Labubus.
