I’m overwhelmed with gratitude today. Life has been crazy lately, but it’s such a good life. Thank God for all that He provides.

If you’re in a bad place, just know that you can make changes and things can be better. Just keep going. taken in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania by @warren.colin1

I’ve wanted a motorcycle for as long as I can remember. There was always some ‘REASON’ that I couldn’t get one right then. Money, time, blah blah blah…

Those ‘reasons’ were all bullshit.

I was afraid of failure. I had never ridden a motorcycle before. I didn’t grow up with dirt bikes like some people did. What if I couldn’t learn. What if I went to learn, dropped the bike and embarrassed myself. If I didn’t try then I couldn’t fail, I could lean on those excuses and hide from the hard things.

What changed? I stopped letting that fear hold me back. I still felt those fears, but I stared them down and FUCKING DID IT ANYWAY. @davidgoggins taught me to stay hard. I lost 100lbs. @andyfrisella taught me mental toughness with the #75hardprogram. @jockowillink taught me how to be a leader at work, home, and in all areas of life.

There are a lot of other great men and women out there that I’ve learned from during my journey, some I know personally and others I’ve followed from afar. Reading their books, listening to every podcast or lecture that they gave. From the bottom of my heart I have to say thank you to all of the people who have inspired me over the years. I did the work but they all gave me the tools to work with.

How am I doing? I’m livin’ the dream! by @warren.colin1

My 1st Murph is complete! Full workout was completed wearing a 20lbs vest. Every rep was completed with full range of motion and good form.

That was my goal going in and I told myself I would do that no matter how long it took. So it took 2 hours and 28 minutes. I’m proud of that time and now I have a baseline to compete against myself on.

From 300+lbs of flab to 215lbs of muscle and gaining. This journey wasn’t fast. It wasn’t pretty. It wasn’t smooth.

I failed, fell off, and let myself down more times than I can count along the way.

But I kept getting back up. And I kept trying. And I made progress. These pictures cover years of change.

My body looks different. My lifestyle looks different. My circle of people looks different. My mindset looks different.

If I can promise you one thing, it’s that if I can make these changes then anyone can make their own changes.

Don’t compare yourself to anyone but the past versions of yourself, just make damn well sure that you’re going to be better tomorrow than you were yesterday.

Thank you to the amazing community I’ve met through @1stphorm You guys are amazing and have helped me to dial in for the next chapter of my journey. I’m not done yet, stay tuned.

If you’re going through hell right now, know that I’ve been there and made it through. You can do it too.

I built my own hell around me by living a life of excess. I was ashamed of the life that I was living, I was miserable in every way possible, and I numbed those feelings with whatever I could. Food, alcohol, drugs, porn… I numbed myself and fell deeper into my own personal hell.

But I have made it out of that hell. I sacrificed a lot of things to get myself out of there. Some I chose to sacrifice, other choices were made for me.

But I can promise you that everything happens for a reason, and sometimes the loss that you think is going to break you is the fuel that will light your fire and save your life.

And if you want to know the secrets to transforming yourself, there is only one. Motivation doesn’t matter, discipline is the answer.

There are days I want to lay in bed, and do nothing but eat junk and watch tv. But I get up and go to the gym and I eat my meal prep instead. There just isn’t a question of whether or not I’m going to do it.

I do it every day. It’s not convenient. It’s not particularly fun. But the pain of working hard and eating clean is a lot less than the pain of hating yourself.

My physical results have been great, but the improvements in my life go so far beyond that. I’ve finally started letting myself do things I’ve always dreamed about. I’m living my live to the fullest with confidence and having fun doing it. Do not hold yourself back from the life that you want. Do one thing today that will make tomorrow better.

3 years, 1 month and 3 days ago, February 3rd 2022. I was miserable. I hated what I saw in the mirror. My drinking was out of control. My life was out of control. Swipe to see what that looks like. But on the day that picture was taken I had made the decision to really make a change.

Since then I’ve had ups and downs. I’ve failed, a LOT. But I’ve also gotten back up and succeeded after trying over and over again. I’ve learned so much in that time, from reading, from therapy, from podcasts and YouTube videos. But most of all from failing. My life is unrecognizable today compared to how it was then, and that’s because I learned to keep on trying no matter what.

Whatever your goals are, just keep trying. Even if you fall on your face. Get up, learn what you can from the failure, and get ready to try again.

So much has changed for me since April of 2023 and most of that change has happened in the past 6 months.

I used to hate the person I saw in the mirror and in pictures. I avoided pictures whenever I could and hated taking progress pictures for my fitness journey. Now I look in the mirror and I love who I have become. And when I look at pictures of the old me I have no hate for that person. I had to be him to become me, and he was trying his best.

I looked at exercise like a chore and I found the easiest way to do what I ‘had’ to do. These days the gym is my favorite place to be. I spend far more time there than I need to. The gym is full of other people who are also trying to better themselves and it is a place where the work you put in is directly returned to you in results. There are relatively few places like that in the world.

Work used to be another place where I found the easiest way to do only what I ‘had’ to do. I still try to find the easiest way to get results at work because that is just efficient, but now I spend more time focused on the future of the company and how I can make things better for others. This has led to promotions and recognition at work.

I used to rely on alcohol to soothe my mind when life was stressful. Now I used exercise, journaling, and therapy to achieve that. Alcohol is no longer a central part of my life. And because I am no longer a slave to alcohol I can still enjoy a drink with friends in a celebratory moment.

There are plenty of other things that I struggle with though. There are weekend days that I can barely get myself out of bed until the afternoon. There are Sundays that I wanted to go to Church but couldn’t find the willpower to get out the door so I attended virtually or not at all. I’ve let my laundry pile up until I was completely out of clean clothes and was had no choice but to get to the laundromat.

Life is not easy. Even when someone seems to be thriving I can promise you that they are struggling with something. I think it is part of human nature and of God’s plan that we will always face struggles. But after all, every good hero needs to face a challenge or journey to become who they were meant to be. taken in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania by @warren.colin1
