You're invited to Maria M. Jaramillo’s lecture, Contested Ground: Designing at the Epistemic Edge of Bogotá, on October 9th, 11:30 - 1, in Weil Hall’s Kuehner Court. Maria is the former Secretary of Planning for Bogotá, Colombia and Founder of LACPLAN, an organization dedicated to emancipated, regenerative, and peaceful futures across Latin America and the Caribbean. As secretary under the city’s first female Mayor, she developed urban design and planning strategies based on the “care block” to create a larger “care system”, an idea intended to close gender gaps as well as address climate, mobility, and access by centering the needs of caregivers and care work. by @washuenvironment
